Taylor Swift Caught in Swastika Scandal

Taylor Swift has found herself in the middle of a photo scandal, as pictures of her standing with a male wearing a painted-on swastika at Katy Perry's birthday party are creating a whirlwind on the Web. In the photo, Swift is seen embracing a fellow partygoer, and both are painted on and splattered with paint -- which was the theme of Perry's party. The male Swift is with, however, has a neck-to-waist giant red swastika painted on his white shirt. Swift's camp has issued a statement regarding the photo, telling TMZ "Taylor took pictures with about 100 people that night ... she doesn't know who this guy is and she didn't realize what was on his shirt."

Blogs like WWTDD have begun noticing, and comment boards are also on fire. A photo of the two, purportedly posted by the male in the photo, accompanied a thread titled "Taylor Swift and I Are Officially Dating." While there's no name given of the male, many commenters took to Taylor's defense, with one saying: "Or maybe you're just a needy loser who harassed her for celeb pics so you could seem cool to a bunch of strangers."

WWTDD asks in its headline about the post: 'Taylor, What Are You Doing?.' Blackbook, reacting to early-on photos of Swift simply in proximity of the swastika shirt, wrote: "Sure, Swift isn't swastika-clad herself. But as a celebrity whose star is sparkling especially brightly following some incident that we've long forgotten that left her looking a lot like those wounded kittens on those Sarah McLachlan-ASPCA commercials, any measure of swastika-proximity is not advisable."

Swift's image as the good, clean country pop star has been blemishless throughout her career, while fellow young stars like
Miley Cyrus and Lindsay Lohan have often found themselves at the center of controversy.

Cyrus caused some racial uproar when she was photographed pulling her eyes in a gesture that many thought was mocking Asians. She was also the center of a major scandal when she posed topless -- albeit covered in a sheet -- for an Annie Liebovitz Vanity Fair shoot that caused an uproar.

Britain's Prince Harry also found himself in hot water when he went to a costume party in a Nazi uniform, complete with swastika armband. Photos of the costume made front-page newspaper headlines, and Harry later apologized "for any offense or embarrassment he has caused."

That is not a swastika, it is a symbol used by anciet India coultures, if it was drawn the other way with the top line going from left to right it would be a swastika. this is a fact and i don't know if he was ignorant and didn't know the difference and intended it to be a swastika or a religious symbol, i'll give him the benifit of the doubt and as for Taylor she's just to cute to get made at.

The german swastika was originally an old indian symbol something like our compass rose (North, South, East West). It symbolized how, in their beliefs, all people in the world were on one place in the beginning and then split into four groups, went off in four different directions, speading over the globe, and then after a while, all turned the same direction. (I learned that at the Crazy Horse Memorial :D)
Maybe the guy was native american...?
Don't pass judgements involving accusations like being something as offensive as a nazi on this guy because you don't know the whole story! All you saw was the picture!
Maybe Taylor was smart enough to figure that out.

you know what?? who give's a flying hoot. The swatztika was a symbol representing peace, which is the reason why Hitler chose it. In Hitler's mind, what he was doing was for the greater peace of the world, (not that it was) so stop giving a symbol representig peace a bad reputation, it's not the symbols fault it was choosen over evey other peace symbol.

Rhett>> Stop baiting, you know that's not what Jrock meant. Hitler used a symbol of peace because in his deluded mind he was working for "the greater good". Clearly he was insane and in no way does Jrock's post, (assuming you read it and don't just spaz out like a child), condone or excuse Hitler's actions or claim he was misunderstood.
