Dakota Fanning Is a Homecoming Queen
Dakota Fanning isn't just a 'New Moon' queen -- now she's a homecoming queen. Everything is coming up roses (and sashes) for the 15-year-old actress, as she was honored by her fellow Campbell Hall Episcopal High School classmates over the weekend. Fanning, sporting a cheerleaders outfit and tiara while walking arm-in-arm with a football player, was all smiles while winning the prize. More Pics After the Jump!
Fanning puts her fame and busy schedule aside each week to show some school spirit, as she cheers for the Vikings football team whenever she can.
The teen actress is set to propel her career even higher into the Hollywood stratosphere this November, as she stars in the sure-to-be-massive 'Twilight' sequel, 'New Moon.'
Director Chris Weitz said recently told MTV that Fanning's Jane character is "bad news," adding that the acclaimed actress has "never really gotten to play a bad person before, probably because she is a very good person. She is really a lovely young person. But I think she had some fun playing, really, the most evil of all the bad guys."

How refreshing that such a talented young actress has her feet firmly planted on the ground and is able to lead as "normal" a life as possible. She will have an unbelievable future if she keeps on this track. This is a person young girls should be looking up to. Keep her in the news and get Lindsay out of it!

At least at my school, and every other school I had ever heard of, only seniors were even allowed to be nominated. What is this?

I was just thinking the same thing. A Senior girl is always Queen. Is she a Senior already????

Who cares? That's not the case at all schools. And it looks like the sash just says "Homecoming Court," not queen. It's quite common for schools to have homecoming courts made up of underclassmen. But even if that's not the case, does it all really matter? I couldn't tell you who my homecoming and prom royalty were when I was in highschool. Or college for that matter. And I was on homecoming court my senior year of college. It's not a big deal.

Hey WHAT get over it. She's popular amongst her peers. Maybe their school has different rules. You are probably still upset you werent' popular enough to be chosen. You don't know the scoop as to why she is beloved. You sound jealous. and the rest of your supporters do as well. Lead your own lives, donate to homeless shelters, volunteer at animal shelters, spend time with terminal abandoned babies, and then cry.

Dakota Fanning is such a talented young woman; it's great to see that she is getting as close as she can to a normal high school experience. I do think the 'Twilight' movies are below her level of talent, though.

does she really need to be homecoming queen? some other girl could have had a moment in the spotlight at that school.

WOW!! Sound's like we have a few "sore losers" that were not voted onto the court here. What you are missing here is the fact that the court and the Queen are voted on by their classmates. Who are we to tell them who should be Queen. Obviously Dakota is who they wanted and who they got. So quit staring down the Queen from your high school in the supermarket everytime you see her(20 years later) and let Dakota have her childhood. She is a member of the school and deserves to be treated like everyone else there with the same opportunities.

What makes Fanning any less deserving than anyone else? From what I can see a cheerleader is the homecomming queen. Pretty common if ya ask me.
Good for her. Have fun!

Don't get me wrong, I'm really am happy for Dakota, but I'm just wondering if she won this just because she is famous and has recently been in a very popular movie, the Twilight Saga: New Moon...

All the schools I've been involved with had Homecoming COURTS...grade school, jr & sr high and just this past Saturday, college. The senior IS NOT always chosen - it's based on who gets the MOST VOTES by the student body. In most schools, the team picks a girl from each class and then the entire student body votes. We had wrestling, basketball, football, etc. queens.

A positive story about a down to earth actress. The smile on her face says it all.
