Kate Gosselin opens in a one-hour interview 'Kate: Her Story' on TLC where "no topics will be off limits" (via Today Show). In the chat with Natalie Morales, Kate apologized for how she treated Jon.
"I was very hard on him and I would never deny that," she says, EOnline.com reports.
"I was wrong to treat him that way. Was it good, healthy and wonderful? No. Am I proud of those moments that were captured? No."
"I still wake up every day, and I think the phone will ring and it'll be the old Jon," she explained.
She also revealed she can't sleep at night because there's no one she can trust. "People leave your house and tell completely different stories." She admits people she trusted have "cashed her in" including estranged husband.
While she admitted she's trying to deal with the divorce, she isn't getting much sleep. With all the tabloid headlines, she doesn't even know what's real anymore. "I am awake in the middle of the night thinking, 'Am I making the best decision?'"
Kate's breaking point in the marriage happened after Jon went public with allegations of an affair with their bodyguard Steve Neild. Kate has denied the affair. She said Neild and his wife are on the short list of people she actually trusts.
"So unthinkable to me that to have to think about it makes me sick," Kate said of the affair rumors.
The Gosselins' divorce will be finalized by the end of the year, and Kate is looking forward to 2010 and hoping for a new start.
The interview also deals with Jon Gosselin's open discussion with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach in which he talks about his relationships with estranged wife Kate and girlfriend Hailey Glassman. "It's hard for a man to stay home for two years, change diapers, make meals and deal with doctor's appointments and all the stuff you expect your wife to do," he said.
But Kate doesn't talk about Jon's personal life with him. "We do [talk] where it relates to the kids...As far as dating goes, I've never, ever broached the subject with him as far as anything I've ever read, seen or heard."
Kate said the kids are her main priority right now because they've been starting to act out and even become more introverted since the divorce went public and 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' went into hiatus from filming.
"We can't turn life off...I can't turn life off. In the last nine, 10 months, it's gotten really crazy and I can't seem to get away from it at this point. My goal in all this is I just want peace for my kids."

Jon quit his job because Kate asked him to. GET IT RIGHT. (Go look at the episodes.) He was staying home doing her job instead of doing his, so she could go pursue her own interests. And interesting that the bodyguard was there for the interview last night. Afraid the big ole' cameras were gonna get you Kate? What a grand manipulator and bad actress you are.
SHe tried to compare herself with single mothers in this country. She has nannies and Jon when she is not there and when she is there. She has millions and lives in a spacious mcmansion. What did she have in common with me? I was a nurse who worked. I made enough to live on and not more. No comparison.
Over 40% of America's children are living in single-headed house holds. I beleive to continue the show would actually be more reality than before. We can all see how divorce, parent's instant gratification and other social disease actually impact children. Kate, I would also file charges on alienation of affection for the world to see it play out - as you will never get enough child support to actually feed your kids.
I think we all need to remember underneath it all they are human beings and still have feelings. We can blame them for all of it... but we are the ones who kept watching... so ultimately we are all to blame to. The reality is you have a man, woman and 8 kids who are ALL in pain and hurting and dealing with it in their own ways... right or wrong. We need to pray for them and stop judging them. We all have faults and could use some improvement .. none of us are perfect. And for the record.... the interviewer of Kate.. Natalie Morales... was EXTREMELY RUDE and bias and frankly made me sick..... what happened to love, compassion and kindness..... when did we become an America who would rather cast down, judge, criticize and just "get a good story" no matter what the cost????? I was VERY disappointed in the interview.... you had Kate balling her eyes out and Natalie was almost "smirking"... sickening. Many of us instead of judging should be thanking God it isn't us going through all of that pain in the public eye. Did they choose this road? Maybe so, but they weren't already celebrities and didn't realize what all doing reality tv would entail. What about all the Hollywood celebrities ???? They put themselves out there the same way and we aren't bashing them!
I think that Kate is doing the best that she can in her situation. sometimes people dont realize how they treat others until its too late. she is human and as a human is given the right to make mistakes. imagine your life as a t.v. show would you be happy with what you see. I wish the best for kate and jon and hope that they can come to civil terms for their kids.
With all the problems in the world why are we so concerned about 2 people and thier probs. Like everybody don't have enough problems in thier own lives we have to worry about 2 nobody's who decided to cash in on thier typical day to day probs.? Who cares? I guess misery loves company.
Kate you had something good right in front of you.... I play the violyns for you only. You were dumb to let it go!!!! Where was the fight for what was yours? Never there! I feel for John even though he has made some mistakes because he wouldnt have if youd have treated like a husband & father not a bother....
I just have to say to Jon who says that two years of staying home and changing diapers and going to doctor appointments was just too much for him to deal with. Well he should of thought about that before he decided to become a daddy!!!!! What did he think it was going to be? And a far as I'm concerned he had it easy. He had lots of help, he didn't have to work, and he didn't have to worry about money. So as far as I am concerned he had it damn easy so he should just shut his damn mouth and admit he got himself in over his head and he wants out. He wants to live the care free bacholor life with no responsibilities, just put it all off on Kate like most men do anyways.
Oh My All she wants is to be IN the NEWS and a DIVA she is much to smart to be a victim...LMAO bossy and controlling as she is people do not just "TAKE" advantage of her unless she either Sets it up or Allows it.
What a silly mommy! Katie Holmes takes Suri into the water in her clothes as the two spend the afternoon at the beach in Miami. More of Today's Hottest Photos
