Did Kevin Spacey Get Waiter Fired?

Waiter Peter Turner claims he was fired from his job after he was instructed by his boss to tell Kevin Spacey that he had to stop smoking because it was a violation of state law. According to RadarOnline, Turner approached the group with the request, and the actor allegedly went ballistic, screaming, "You're an aggressive prick." Three days later, Turner was "laid off."

The incident allegedly occurred back in June at Clarke Cooke House in Newport, Rhode Island. Turner said he initially made a joke to the smokers, saying: "You're not allowed to smoke in here unless you're on fire."

But the Oscar-winning actor wasn't amused and allegedly exploded in anger. "I need you to get the f*** away from my table," Spacey said.

Turner told his boss about the incident and was told "If the owner knew you pissed off Kevin Spacey, he'd have me fire you."

Three days later, Turner was "laid-off" from his job, but a replacement was hired for his position. The lay off has been a huge financial strain for Turner, who is working part-time as a caterer. "I was banking on making somewhere between $12,000 and $18,000. That's basically what I am out because someone thought that they were more privileged than anyone else," he said.

The real focus should be on Kevin Spacey. He was breaking the law by smoking in a public place. Why wasn't the police called when he began with his drama? Do these Hollywood types think they are immune to the laws and can do what the hell they feel like doing? So now it's the Hollywood types, the NBA and NFL types who can get away with anything? .......

Actually, I see this type of behavior all the time. I'm seen many businesses allow illegal behavior or special treatment to guests. I've seen NBA stars get away with demanding "Black Only" service staff, big wigs given access to hookers and drugs, staff fired for "offending" VIP's by not allowing violations of law/company policy, etc. I, personally, was almost disciplined for trying to abide by FEDERAL money laundering prevention laws that a celeb didnt want to follow. Business owners want celebs for their money and for the status of having them in their establishment. They will break rules, laws, or company policy to maintain that. And they will fire any employee, no matter how loyal or hard working, that may jeapordize that.

The manager should of told Spacey to put it out. Spacey is an @sshole, just like most stars. They think they are above everyone else and don't have to follow the rules. Too bad the police weren't brought in.

Personally, I think Kevin Spacey ROCKED, in "American Beauty". Although, his peformance in "21" kind of echoed the tone he's said to have taken in this article, I never take AOL articles 100% seriously.

If these allegations were to turn-out to be true, I don't think I could continue to consider him one of my favorite actors anymore. Until then, i'm content with remaining neutral.

Has everyone forgotten about the Rhode Island fire around 5 years ago? And how many people were killed and maimed? Okay, so it was pyrotechnics that started it and killed all those people, but the point is what can "accidently" occur. Kevin Spacey, and all of his arrogance, have little regard for someone just trying to be cautious. I mean come on! The rest of the world has laws, and know cause and effect! So a "lowly" waiter can't say something because he's an actor? Since when does that make ssomeone priveleged to put others in danger? I used to like his acting until I saw that he's virtually the same arrogant, smug, "prick" in every role he performs. What a sense of entitlement these Hollywood actors have. I say start boycotting all these "entertainers", and when they start "acting" civil, like a normal human being, then they can come to us for our money, to see their movies, to pay their big fat salaries!!! Spacey sounds correct.

I doubt he had an outburst like that, calling a waiter "an aggressive prick" if the waiter was polite, friendly, warm.

Also, the waiter's "joke" sounds like a double entendre, a jab at rumors of homosexuality with the "on fire" phrase. (Gee ya think maybe THAT had something to do with Spacey's being irate?)

Let's not pain the scenario as if it's about a rich lout who harassed a little guy. Sounds to me like the little guy was an obnoxious prick who insulted a movie star.

He got fired for cause.

I believe his story. Hollywood folks are too too full of self importance and they get that way from people catering to them just as this restaurant did. If there was a "no smoking" policy, Spacey should have been told he'd have to stop or leave. Instead he took the offensive making the waiter the bad guy and the restaurant manager went along with it.
