How old will her child be when she is 50?..60?
will she have the time and energy to play games with her child like some mom's do when they are younger with their children.

I was 48 and had no problem keeping up with my daughter. Believe it or not, many women (and men) continue working past 65, have kids in their 40's and even have sex past age 70. OMG!! Oh and I am 67 now.
of course she will. I had my last child at 38 (of six boys)... kids revitalize you...
Actually, I'm happy to see husbands and wives (their OWN wives) having their children. Stop deflating everyone's happy wished for the new family, spoil-sport.
Kerry,
I had my first two children when I was in my twenties and my third last year, at the age of 43. Most older mothers I know are more relaxed and confident in their mothering abilities, and everyone's happy as a result. Children keep you young, no matter what the age. I think of this as a blessing and cherish every day with my little one. And one last thing...There are LOTS of younger moms who are are in worse shape than older moms who take care of themselves. Congratulations to the new parents! Best wishes to them!! :)
Let's see Kerry..... When she is 50, her child will be 7 years old. As to your second question, when she is 60, her child will be 17. Glad to help you out with the math, by the way... Hopefully she will be a great, older, and wiser mother who waited until she was ready bring a child into this world. Congratulations Mary & Jeremy! May this child bring you great happiness!
I am so glad to hear that a MARRIED celebrity couple have brought a child into this world. Congrats Mary Stuart & Jeremy!

I agree that it is nice to see a couple married before they have children. I believe that to be the ideal, and no amount of arguing and put downs or name calling will make me change my mind on this.
In terms of her age, although it may be a little older than normal, I think it is ok. My grandmother had a baby when she was 42 and that turned out fine. Some people are better parents when they have matured a bit and have more life experience.
In regard to the nasty comment made about Mary having her child at 43. Yes, it's a bit older than the usual, but as long as the child is loved, that's what counts. I had my children at the ages of 21 and 24 years old. I didn't have the patience to play with my children as Kerry indicated younger mothers do, but I gave them lots of love. Children have playmates for them to play with. Better they have parents that love them as opposed to playing with them. You sometimes, can't have it all. Love is what counts.

Does being judgmental get you through your days?
TOTALLY agree with you Momma Bear! With all the contraceptives on the market today, I don't understand why all of the single couples are having a child... and then go on and have some more and still not get married. The morals of this country is the pits and I'm afraid it's going to get worse.
Wonderful news! Congratulations!

It's wonderful, that a Hollywood couple still regards traditional values. I'm very happy for them! Age is incidental, love isn't. God bless their beautiful family!

I just had my baby at 44 the best thing ever he is my 6th child...No he was not planned I was definetly done but my kids go from 25 to 5 months old and the older ones help out big time..and I have a lot more patience with this one as opposed to the first one when I was 18...thanks god I had him I also have a grandaughter and I think its amazing they will be able to play together..and all my kids were excited about it...Kids keep you young...when they are all gone what do you have left..I guess this is my fate...enjoy it and be glad that you can still reproduce although having a child late in life and it being your first this is when its more likely to maybe have something wrong with it...Our bodies are made to reproduce as my Doctor stated I'm in excellent health because I have allowed my body to do what it was made to do..and at almost 44 in a couple days I still maintain a 135lb weight so I say if your Healthy and you love kids..go for it...some people are just to selfish and everything is about me me me...I enjoy my large family and it makes family much closer to oneanother..
I would like to know if Mary Stuart Masterson had fertility treatment (FT) of some sort.
I saw a fertility doctor at 41 / 42 years of age and he told me it was almost impossible to get pregnant in your 40s without aggressive FT help.
Of course the media always deliberately neglect to let the public know about whether an 'older' celebrity has had FT of sorts and most female celebs will not admit either.

That fertility doctor was just trying to get some high priced "aggressive" treatments going. There are many women who can and do get pregnant in thier forties without help and sometimes not even on purpose. Until you are through menopause (usually at least 50) the baby factory is still open for business. And if she did have fertility treatments who cares and why would it be any of our business?
