Rihanna will be speaking on television for the first time since she was beaten by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, as the 'Umbrella' crooner is set to appear on 'Good Morning America' and then '20/20 this week. A teaser from ABC was just released this morning, though no clips of the actual interview are available yet. Rihanna, who was beaten by Brown during Grammy weekend in February, will speak to Diane Sawyer about that storied night and everything that's happened since. The interview will appear in several installments on both shows.
The singer will also be debuting her new single, 'Russian Roulette,' during a performance on "GMA.'
Brown's attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna occurred in February. He was sentenced in August to five years' probation, six months of community labor and a year of domestic violence counseling after he pleaded guilty to felony assault.
In a recent interview, Brown apologized once again for his role in the assault, saying: "I regret every moment," and that he's "certain [this will never happen again]. I've seen the pain people have been through and I don't want to inflict that anymore."
Rihanna's ABC interview coincides with the debut of her new single, "Russian Roulette," from her upcoming album, "Rated R." It's her first CD since 2007's multiplatinum "Good Girl Gone Bad."

It's all about getting attention for her new album. I would care what she had to say if she spoke out about it when she wasn't releasing an album. Just a publicity stunt. But what do you expect from Hollywood.

I am waiting to see if she admits to slaping him. although it gives no excuse for him to hit back, the rumors are , she has slaped him before the beating.

The whole situation is unfortunate that she was beaten. I am sure the release of her CD has nothing to do with her appearance on television. How does the constitution works, you can defend yourself as long as it is not a woman or you leave marks? She read a text message, hit him first but he gets probation, community service and mandated counseling but she gets nothing for her actions.
I guess invaing his provacy and hitting him first menas nothing because she is prettier than him. A man in Texas killed two people breaking into someone elses' home and gets nothing, but Chris Brown gets probation, community service and counseling for hitting someone. Maybe he should have taken her to Texas, he probably would have gotten an award.

I hate how men seem to think its an excuse to beat a woman because she slaps him. Thats how you know a man is weak. A good strong man would use his strenth to control the woman rather than beat her. Good mothers raise their sons to never hit a woman, theres no reason for it.

I could care less about Rihanna. She will just use these TV spots to draw sympathy and sell her new release which I hope does miserably....... Will she admit to the many times she hit, scratched & bit Chris? How many times do you turn the other cheek before you defend yourself. I have four sons, I know how agressive these girls are. I side with Chris.

I see every one in the media doging Chris Brown, I have not heard anyone talking about the council member from Queens NEW YORKwho beat up is Latino girl friend cut her in the face and she end up getting like 30 something stiches from the glass he smash in her face. The judge said he should stay away from her she is going back to court for the judge to withdraw the order because she loves him, He will be going back to court for sentance sometime this month. I havent heard the media calling for his head and ask him to resign from political office. Where is Nancy Grace, Jane Valez, and the rest of the media, I have been waiting.By the way some of is behaviour was caught on camera in the building where it show him draging her from the building. Did any one here in New York saw this. This was worse than Cris Brown. disparity of treatment.

Travis know your darn history before you start talking. She is not Black she is a Barbadian .....she is from an island in the Atlanic Ocean....Spears (White) who has done the same thing speaks out about her crap and she wins awards and sells millions of albums....Stop using race to define everything you dont understand.

Precious D,
I guess you don't understand the English language. Atlanic is really Atlantic and dont has an apostrophe between the n and the t as in "don't", How about learning English BEFORE YOU chastise someone else?

Precious D, unless you're differentiating between Black American and Black Barbadian, Barbadian falls under the "Black" category, as does "Jamaican" and most of the other Caribbean nationalities.
