Katy Perry Has Cured Russell Brand's Promiscuous Tendencies

Katy Perry seems to have done the impossible -- she's gotten British actor and sex-obsessed comedian Russell Brand to give up his womanizing ways. The newly-united love between the two was enough to cause Brand to change his perspective on life, as he revealed in an interview with Britain's Sunday Times this weekend that he's now "living in a different way at the moment."

Brand, who made cat-calls to Perry as he hosted the MTV Video Music Awards, now says "regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with the calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years."

Brand says he also doesn't delve too much into his love life with the media because things get misconstrued, and he doesn't want to expose the 'Waking Up in Vegas' songstress to any unnecessary headaches.

"She's lovely and I don't want her to read anything about herself. The other day a journalist from a tabloid in a ludicrous fedora said to me, 'Russell, are you in love with Katy?' And I said, 'You look like a character from a Graham Greene novel. I think I'm in love with you.' I said that to defuse the situation. But what do they print? They print, 'I think I am in love,' Brand said.

He also opened up about his past addictions and struggles with drugs, which in turn contributed to his life-in-the-fast-lane reputation. "My personality was defined by solitude. A lot less now, but especially when I was a drug addict. I was always on my own, sat right up to the telly. I'm only now making friends with people. I'm only really happy when I'm performing. I'm like Judy Garland."

Brand is slowly becoming a household name in the U.S., having hosted the VMAs twice and also scoring a wildly funny (and almost autobiographical) role as a hypersexual rocker in 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall.'

How long have they been together,a couple months? And that's cured? Ha! I will reserve judgement on that until later. BTW,has she got him drinking and using drugs again? As mentioned ,she IS an industrial strength irritant and would drive anyone to drink/drugs! Boo, Katy Perry sucks!

She is making a big mistake. I am sure they are both acting nice now, but give them a few months and it will be over.

Travis McCoy was better for her. I suggest she use a condom with Russel Brand.
