Is Chris Brown Stealing Rihanna's Thunder?

Doesn't it feel like the whole world wants to hold
Rihanna's hand today? Well except for
Chris Brown, who is still finding new ways to smack a girl down from afar. After her tearful chat with
Diane Sawyer this morning where Rihanna admitted she went back to Chris again and again and talked about how ashamed she was of herself for not being strong enough to leave an abusive relationship, women (and sensitive men) across the globe just wanted to be on that couch saying, "Girl we understand!"
All of that Rihanna good-will must have been too much for Chris to handle since he will try to strip away some of her sympathy thunder tomorrow night when he vents in his own sit down with
MTV News, a couple of hours before Rihanna's interview with
20/20 is scheduled to air. Is Brown doing damage control or is he just being a jerk? Our experts weigh in after the jump.
Chris already had his time to tell his side of the story. He did a series of interviews over the summer, including his admission of guilt and blanket apology on
Larry King. Rihanna kept quiet then so why can't Chris let her have her moment now?
"Rihanna has a new album coming out and if these interviews go well they could really help put her career back on the right track," says Career Coach
Tracey Steinberg. "If Chris Brown had always acted like a gentleman, he wouldn't be in this situation. If he wanted to do the gentlemanly thing now, he would let her have these moments."
In the pre-taped interview with MTV News'
Sway tomorrow night, Brown says he is just trying to move on. "My thoughts basically now is just, 'Ok, How do we get past it?," Brown says. "How do you, Chris, go from point A to point B? How do you learn from your mistake, turn it into a positive and help other people with this situation and at the end of the day become the person that you want to be?"
Folks in the entertainment industry say they understand what Brown is trying to do and at the end of the day, artists need to do what they have to do to sell records.
"He has an album coming out and is getting ready to go on tour, he wants to make sure his and Rihanna's fans hear what he has to say and plug his agenda at the same time," explains public relations guru
Rebecca Brooks, President of The Brooks Group.
So we can't expect either of these stars to slink out of the spotlight because it would just be bad business. Rihanna's "
Rated R" will be released Nov. 20, while Brown follows with "
Graffiti" on Dec. 8. Business or not, does it make what Chris is doing right?
"To release your album the same time as your ex girl that you beat is releasing hers on top of announcing you tour the day she drops her first single is not fooling anyone," says
Pop Wrap's Ryan Brockington. "And don't even get me started on his dumb ass CD cover, where he is sportin' a pair of black tight pants that were probably left in his car by Rihanna when she ran for her life. On top of which he is holding a guitar ready to beat down a slew of animated goblins. Are you playing a game of 'How much crap can I pull over on the world Chris'?"

Rihanna and Chris Brown are two young people who made a mistake!

I wish them both good in their careers!

I find it very hard to sympathize with Rihanna because I don't think she is as innocent as she is trying to be.
I agree that Chris Brown should not have beat her. However, Rihanna was the instigator and nothing gives her the right to hit him either.
The law applies equally to everyone!
A man should never hit a woman AND a woman should never hit a man.
The incident occurred because Rihanna started the fight and Chris reacted badly. Clearly both of them were violent towards each other and both of them should share that responsibility.
Yes, Rihanna was a victim. But to a certain extent, so was Chris. He made a terrible mistake and payed for it. EVERYONE makes mistakes,
unfortunately his one was played out to the whole world.
People should give him a break and stop hating on him. He is a teenager who needs support and guidance to prevent him from making the same mistake again.
He deserves forgiveness, and I hope that he learns from his mistakes because he is talented young man.
I don't care if Chris is speaking out at the exact same time as Rihanna. He spoke out before her, and he has constantly been speaking about his feelings on Twitter. He is trying to settle all of this and come out as a better person.
Rihanna on the other hand is trying to look like a great role model when in fact she was also violent. She is only speaking out now just to get good publicity.
I don't think Chris is trying to steal he thunder. I think that he is looking for forgiveness and support, which he deserves - give the kid a break already (he needs help not people hating on him).
I don't care how much publicity and marketing Rihanna goes through, I won't be buying her album.
It's just not good.
However, I do wish the both good luck in the future.

Croaker, no one said domestic violence is okay.
I just believe that the domestic violence in this case was double-sided. It seems to me that they were both violent towards one another but because Brown was caught, he takes all of the blame while Rihanna keeps quiet for a few months and speaks when it becomes convenient as if she was a battered little angel, which she is not. Meanwhile, Brown is vilified and demonized when he's just a 20-year-old kid who made a bad decision.

I don't think a man should hit a woman or a woman to hit a man. They both was equally wrong and Chris has owned up to his wrongdoing but, Rhianna is made out to be the innoscent one when she knows for a fact the she is no angel in all this, she just don't want her image tarnish. For Jay-Z his focus should be on his wife and his marriage and for Oprah she needs help all together.

If Chris Brown wants to do an interview then he can! Who is the public to tell him that he shouldn't be doing any more interviews? Rihanna told her side, (part) of her side and Chris Brown wanted to speak on it again. It's funny how Chris Brown respected Rihanna enough to NOT discuss the details of February 8th but Rihanna wants to do a "tell all" now but in the same breathe say "I want him to do well, I want him to have a great career". I think that may be a little impossible now that she got on TV and told her version of what happened. Now people are really going to criticize him. She could've at least respected him enough to not go into full detail about what happened especially, since she says she just wants to forget about it. I know she provoked him and I'm pretty sure she didn't calmly ask Chris Brown about the text message he received.

I'm not saying that what Chris Brown did was right because it wasn't but Rihanna had a hand in the incident. She is NOT as innocent as she's proclaiming to be!

This is the soooooooooo classic approach to abuse, the man gets the blame for everything. The woman then is hyped up by the media and family! Premediated - This woman did something to provoke this young man and I believe without a doubt that Rihanna was setting Chirs up from the start of their relationship. First, it's this big talk about her and Jz. When he pushed her to the side, she makes out like she's got this big thing goin' on with Chris. The fight with Chris sends her to the NBA player, alwhile she's claimn' she's getting over Chris. Now is not the NBA player anymore. What next Rihanna?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got what you wanted when the azz Jz came running in to SAVE the ABUSED RIHANNA!!!!!!! Wakeup world it's not always the male that starts this stuff. Trust me, I am noway sayn' that the man does nothing because Chris didn't have to feed into her provocation!
