Mariah Carey Tells Larry King She Was Emotionally Abused

During an appearance on 'Larry King Live,' Mariah Carey was asked by the 75-year-old talk show host about Rihanna, -- whose ex-boyfriend Chris Brown pleaded guilty to attacking her -- and King then pressed the singer if she had ever been abused.

"Abuse has several categories," Carey answered King. Watch Her Response

"You've been emotionally abused?" King questioned.

"Emotionally, mentally ..." Mariah said.

"Why is it hard to get out of it?" King continued

"Well, it's scary," she said. "You know I just think you get into a situation and you feel locked in if your situation is similar to one of the situations that I've been in which I won't harp on."

"No you don't have to, but it is hard to get out?" he asked again.

"For me, to really get out it was difficult because there was a connection that was not only a marriage but a business thing where the person was in control of my life," Carey added.

wouldnt LET her? was that a marriage or some one trying to comtrol another cause the last time i checked, she was grown at that time and should have been able to say who she want to hang out with be they gun toting or not. its control when a person feel the other person wont let them do this or that. if its bad for them, they will have to come to that conclusion on their own or with the help of a professional.

Actually it was reported years ago about the abuse. She has a song on E=MC2 that slightly touches on how she felt in her marriage. It's called Side Effects. Some of her close friends like Da Brat and Oprah have hinted to the abuse she went through. Da Brat stated in an interview that Mariah couldnt even leave the house to get to get a burger. Oprah stated that she knew Mariah shouldnt have married Tommy Mottola. Mariah stated that those who knew what she was going through were scared for her and Barbara Walters during a 20/20 interview with Mariah hinted that she knew what went on as well.

I don't buy ANYTHING that comes outta her dirty mouth. I guess she is refering to Tommy Mottola AGAIN!!! She will use any opportunity she can to throw that man under the bus to sell a few CD's. Funny, he has been married to sexy Mexican singer Thalia for YEARS and they don't seem to have any problems. She just seems so phony and will say or do anything for her career. Now that this turd of a CD has TANKED she's ready to jump on the Rihanna/Look at Me, I've been abused TOO, WAH!!! bandwagon. If I was marrie dto her I'd probably wanna abuse her in one way or another too!

I think anybody who has been in a bad marriage could on some level could play the abuse card. The word abuse is so overused today it is itself abused. No wait, what did I just say? That can't be right.
