Sir Ian McKellen stopped by 'The View' on Thursday for a friendly chat about his latest project, but ended up schooling Whoopi Goldberg on the difference between Dumbledore and Gandalf.After discussions about his TV series 'The Prisoner' and a semi-testy exchange with Elisabeth Hasselbeck about flu shots and government health care, McKellen got asked: "Are you coming back in 'Harry Potter'?" The question, from the show's moderator, silenced the audience and confused the rest of the panel.
"Well, if I were Michael Gambon, I might. But I don't play Dumbledore," he explained. "I play in 'Lord of the Rings.'" [crickets]

See that's what I mean! What in the HE$$ is WHIPPY doing on that show? She doesn't know shi$ and she's all focus on how funny she really thinks she is while wearing that MOP on her head........My God look like a human being and not some trend setter from the ghetto! Go OFF that show, you don't have the interviewing techniques moreless the talent of anything else! She's gross to even look at!!!

My point is this woman gets payed a lot of money- obviously I see she may only be comic relief but it is really frustrating for people soooooooooo opinionated with big a** paychecks to make dumba** mistakes-this actor is obviously a gentleman.Wouldn't you get a reprimand and wouldn't your job be in jeopardy for a mistake like this if we greeted a client and mistook him/her for another client?Just because they are rich and famous does not excuse the behavior this is another reason they feel so "entitled"they are above the "little" people not in my book-I call it as it is.
it's mishaps like these that create greater concern about the more influential and critical mishaps by the puppeteers of media and their puppets who most often are tangled in their own strings of self indulgence ... ladies of the VIEW!

When are they going to replace Elisabeth? Why can't she just be on permanent maternity leave? She lacks appropriate social skills to be on television. I mean, didn't we all learn as young children not to interrupt people? It is extremely rude of her to be a host on a television show and constantly and consistantly interrupt people and shout so that her opinion may be heard over others. It is also very irritating how she is angered at the fact that not everyone shares her opinion of politics. That's what America stands for!!!! Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs! Whether it be politics, religion, social behavior, or anything else that one may want to have an opinion on!

Well this is only my opinion, But I like Whoppi A WHOLE lot better than Rosie on here! And like others have said she is usually on top of it! I like Elizabeth but dont think I could take her all the time, See we (at home) can shut off the tv they cant and proably Whoopi was trying to change the subject seeing that sometimes discussions especially political and now more than ever can get too over heated.And she is human and people make mistakes and who hasnt really? ( and no Im not a liberal)

Amen! I agree 100% - Why can't Elisabeth just stay home and take care of her kids she keeps birthing -why have them if she's not there taking care and enjoying them??? Her fashion thing is nuts - she has no business doing fashion with her utter lack of fashion sense. Another thing that takes her from her children - gee, I wonder why she has them?
