Chris Brown Is Having One Rough Week

As if
Chris Brown's life, image and reputation haven't been sullied enough since his brutal beating of
RIhanna back in February, this week offered up a surplus of less-than-rainbows-and-puppies news for the disgraced R&B star. His quest to revamp his public persona via apologies has helped a bit, but this week, that all hit the skids thanks to a few minor hiccups (e.g., his awesomely terrible album cover) and one major one -- with Rihanna detailing his violent outburst(s) to Diane Sawyer. So, PopEater is taking a look into what may have been the worst week ever for Chris Brown.
Chris will likely have a hard time explaining not just the abuse, but the "eight or nine" times that Rihanna says he hit her. For those thinking his brutal beating of her that was so vividly visualized thanks to
the infamous TMZ photo was the first time he hit her ... guess again. "EIGHT OR NINE." Brown and Rihanna were together for less than a year... meaning that's an almost one domestic violence instance per month average if maybe he skipped a month to rest up or was just feeling warm and fuzzy for some reason.
Because of Rihanna's Thursday/Friday reveal, Brown felt the need to throw his opinion and side into the mix as well, saying that he's "confused right now as far as the public perception [of me]."

TheAwl.com, isn't a fan of Brown's attempts at damage control in the press.
"Back in the olden times, people used to go to jail when they beat up their girlfriends. Crazy, right? Now, if we're just going to give them probation for biting people -- shouldn't judges also gag them with the press? It's a great idea! If they have to clam up for six months, then they'll be banned from publicizing their strangely well-timed new records while surfing the wave of their new-found notoriety," Sicha tells PopEater.
With the primary cause for Brown's horrendous week out of the way, let's get back to his attempt to reinvigorate his musical comeback.
Brown unveiled the cover art for his new album 'Graffiti,' (
which we analyzed in detail) and let's just say it wasn't swooned over by critics and fans. The art shows a very tight-pantsed Brown with a bionic arm in outer space, spray-painting his title and also some random cartoon monsters. Seriously. Fan Jasmine James
told MTV that "it looks like something off of [the 1996 film] 'Space Jam.'" For those who didn't see 'Space Jam,' that's probably not a compliment. Brown even took to Twitter
to discuss his curiously tailored legwear, asking "Who cares if my pants r fitted." Apparently our pals at
StreetLevel do, because they declared: "This is a slippery slope we must never fall victim too. What's next? All spandex everything?"
There were also other images that some didn't find too appealing. In
a post on TheAwl.com, Sicha writes: "Say you are Chris Brown. Would you be putting out an album this year? Much less one with an album cover that looks like you're about to beat some tiny animated critters to death with a space-guitar? As your ex-girlfriend was endlessly making the press rounds, talking about how you had "no soul" in your eyes while you
bit her?"
So where does Brown go from here?
BestWeekEver.tv Managing Editor Michelle Collins tells PopEater she has a decent sounding proposal for Mr. Brown.
"I think his best bet is joining the Army. He's clearly got aggression issues which he can take out against the real enemy, and at least 40 percent of Americans will start to respect him for his patriotism."

Correction: Rihanna did not say Chris Brown hit her 8 or 9 times! She added to the statistic that Diane Sawyer said it took 7 times before women actually leave their batterers, and Rihanna corrected her with the accurate statistic that it is 8 or 9 times before a woman actually leaves! That statistic is true. As a crisis hotline counselor for rape/domestic violence, I know all too well the statistics. Not to excuse Chris Brown even hitting once....which is NOT ok. But rihanna did not say he hit her 8 or 9 times. Watch the full interview.

He is a woman beater and should disappear from the public eye and go away. Rihanna was way too kind to him in the interview. He has been out there talking about endlessly via lawyer statements seeking forgiveness. I read the report and it looked more like attempted murder, the way he beat her up and left her on the dark street UNCONSCIOUS while he and his burly bodyguards scooped him away from the scene of the crime. He is a monster and outght to be treated as such. A good lesson for other bad, violent cowardly man who beat their women.

We did hear his side, his excuse rather, my daddy beat me so I will do the same. He spoke several times before she ever did. If she speaks and encourages women, especially young girls to leave an abusive relationship than I commend her.

Rihanna, I believe you are doing everything to make yourself look good and Chris look bad, nothing short. Chris has publicly stated 'he is having fun' in the counseling sessions whether mandated, court appointed or not. Chris being 20 YEARS OLD is a young boy at heart who has been thrown into a man's world, and what did he find when he got there?
He found he is supposed to fend for himself because apparently people are not giving him good advice, he's not heeding it, or he is associating with people who are not looking out for his best interests. He is a young man, with young man problems who will come out the better for it, in spite of the mean and vicious things that Ms. Rihanna is saying about him.
Rihanna and Chris I will tell you the same things I stated in blogs to other 'celebrities', keep your lives out of the news and off the papers and get the counseling that is available for you. When you have done that you can tell America the story of 'you', because until than, you will be subject to the fodder that people love to see happen to 'celebrities'.

Chris Brown is the person who made Chris Brown look bad. He bit, beat and battered his girlfriend. In public, no less. There is no way to make that kid look good; Rihanna actually covered up for him and tried to make him look like a good guy despite what he did to her. That's nuts. If someone beats the crap out of me, I wouldn't pee on him if he were on fire! If he's going to act like a thug, then he should be treated as one. Yes he's young and yes he's got some growing up to do. He's also a foul-tempered, dangerous woman beater. There's no excuse he can make, no sob story he can tell that makes him anything but what he is...a coward and a bully. When he's ready to man up and own that, then he can start turning his life around. However, his choice of profession doesn't bode well for Chris Brown; the music industry chews up and spits out guys like him every day. How many of them are already dead or in jail? You think Chris is going to find any good role models in the record company? In the concert promoters? That man is walking on a tightrope headed straight to hell. And nothing Rihanna could say would make him look any worse than how he's made his own self look.

To the Op counselor you should look at the full interview again because Rhianna did say that this was not the first time he had hit her or been physical with her. She did not to my knowledge put a number on it so it could have been more then 8 or 9 times for all we know but it was something that escalated over time till the night in question. yes, you are right. she did say it escalated. as often it does in dv cases. yes, i have watched it a few times!! but if you watch carefully, she said that was the first time she was beaten, bruised etc. Which, is horrific that it even happened..i am not defending at all! my only intent in replying in which i never do on these types of things....is that it was inaccurate information stating she said he beat her 8 or 9 times. she didn't.. the information in which she was stating was in regards to how many times a woman is beaten before she will leave according to the us statistics and it is a strong statistic that can offer a lot of understanding in the mind of women in domestic violence relationships. and in fact, show the strength of rihanna for being able to get out when she did!

I am SO happy others jumped on the same thing I did. She never said Chris Brown had hit her "eight or nine times". She was adding to the count Diane Sawyer gave on how often a woman is normally hit before she leaves. I hope Popeater will fix that major error in their story right away. You misunderstood completely.
That said, Chris Brown's career is a mess (his own fault) and the canned "I am sorry tour" did not help at all since it seems insincere and designed by his handlers to help save his career, not because he was really sorry.
There is NO excuse for what he did and NOTHING she could have done to make it ok. His fans needs to let go of the dream that some miracle will make him look good.

DR, I wasn't there, and neither were you. The articles said they were at an industry party just before it happened. I have to assume there was alcohol at the party. There are a lot of articles that came out after saying both were turning to alcohol shortly after the break up, go look 'em up. I doubt they started after the breakup.
