Rihanna gave the world a glimpse into her life and the dark details of the assault on her by Chris Brown on 'Good Morning America' once again, this time going into specifics about the night he viciously beat her. "He had no soul in his eyes," Rihanna tells Diane Sawyer about Brown during the violent episode in his car back in February. In the portion of the interview that aired on 'GMA' on Friday (the full interview will air on '20/20' on Friday night), Rihanna says that prior to the assault, she and Brown "had a blast" at a pre-Grammy party. Then, on the ride home, she found a text message from another girl on his phone.
"I caught him in a lie, and he wouldn't tell the truth. I wouldn't drop it. I couldn't take that he kept lying to me, and he couldn't take that I wouldn't drop it," Rihanna says. Then, the R&B star says "the truth is right there: the text message. So, it escalated into him being violent towards me. It was ugly."
When asked by Sawyer what she was thinking about during the incident, Rihanna calmly replies: "That's all I kept thinking the whole time. 'When's it going to stop?' He had no soul in his eyes. He was clearly blacked out. There was no person."
Rihanna says after the assault in Brown's Lamborghini: "I was battered. I was bleeding, I was swollen in my face. There was no way of me getting home. My next option was to get out of the car and start walking in a gown and a bloody face. That whole night was not part of my plan."
She says that following the beating, Brown "didn't accept" the fact that they would be broken up. "Obviously he didn't want us to be apart, but I knew I had to make a decision for me."
Sawyer then asks Rihanna whether she hates Brown for beating her -- several times according to the first portion of the interview.
"No, I don't hate him at all," Rihanna says. "I actually love and care about him. I'm concerned about him doing well. I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life, grow up and just take this as something that you had to go through to grow up and learn."

Please do we have to hear anything more from Rihanna about this? There are so many women going thru this everyday and we know what happened to her. I like Rihanna but I believe this is going way too far and people are beginning to gag when they see her face. It happened now move on

Mary, fan of Brown I presume? I don't understand people like you. I keep hearing people complain and complain about seeing them everywhere but no one is MAKING you click on it. IF YOU'RE SICK OF SEEING/ READING ABOUT IT THEN DON'T READ!!! It's really not that hard.
I coudn't agree with you more! Shut the hell up already!
You are so right Mary. I don't believe in any man putting his hands on a women. I have two son's and thats the way I raise them.
But is she telling people that she hit this young man first?. I tell young women and women period. Keep your hand s to yourself all men are not gentlement.
What about the men who commit domestic violence and get a slap on the hand like anger management classes when their wife, or girfriend, live in partner is walking around looking worst then Rihanna could ever look.
Move on. Let this young man get his life back.
NO... Don't get over it!!! People get abused EVERY DAY!! Men, Women, and CHILDREN.... if you look away from a situation that is in the public's eye, what are you going to do when you witness it firsthand... Probably NOTHING!! Which is why it continues!! Domestic and Child ABUSE is WRONG... Go Rihanna for going public!!! Maybe some people will learn from this and leave their abusers, seek help b/c they are the abuser, report someone being abused... either way, making a better tomorrow by making good decisions today! Maybe, just maybe one day seeing a report on Domestic or Child ABUSE will astound you rather than make you think you wish that person would just shush already.
Rihanna is bringing national attention to the awful fact that women are beaten by their boyfriends and husbands everyday.
I think that's one person's opinion, and the fact that you would gag about seeing her is extreme. Only now can Rihanna really speak about the details in her own words without violating a court order. And those details are compelling. It's BECAUSE she's a celebrity that her story matters. It's BECAUSE women go through it every day that her voice matters, because she ultimately followed her head rather than her heart, and got OUT.
You ladies who are saying, "It happened, move on" are out of your minds. I hope you never ever let a man put his damn hands on you. But if he does tell the world and don't shut up about it. Rhianna is doing the right thing. I bet Chris Brown's Punk ass wont be hitting another woman. If he was brave enough to hit her he should be brave enough for her to talk about it as much as she wants.
Thank you! She needs to get over herself - there are hundreds of thousands of woman who have experienced it, what makes her think she's special? She's promoting a book, for pete's sake. Pity me, pity me ... and the media eats it up. Surely there's more timely news than this pathetic woman.
I agree that she should move on and not cause the media to start with this story over and over. I think Chris made a start at giving her respect by not discussing their affairs in public. I don't care if they are public entertainers, I don't need to know about their private affairs. I don't need to see where they live and how much money they make and know private things. She sings and he sings. That's it. I wish she would apply her philosophy to all the things she does in the public. Young girls see how she dresses, what she is singing about and how she uses her talent. Don't just think about what you do in your private life. Ive never seen anyone decide who they will love and respect based on people they don't even know. None of those people will base their personal lives on Rhianna. She has to grow up right there....I have to be weak minded if I choose to do something because you did. later
I agree. Move on and shut-up!
Mary,
On 20/20 was the first time Rihanna spoke out about the beating. However, Chris Brown it seems has a motor mouth about it even bringing his Mother onto Larry King to be his support. He also had the nerve to tell a reporter that he wished that Rihanna had kept what happened to her self. Poor Chris, is society giving him a bad time for being such a jerk. Rihanna is using her experience to help teenage girls that have suffered date rape and abuse. Just FYI, Mary that's it from me.
Interesting that she's talking about in detail when her new album is about to hit. Unclassy to use this for publicity.

I agree with you. The timing is suspect. She said he couldn't accept they should break up. We saw the pictures of them riding wave runners together. I think this is PR for her album. Abuse is never acceptable by either sex. By her own account she didn't handle the text very well.
Trash/trash..both of them.

I for one is not interested in her kind of music. However, this abuse has been repeatedly reported on tabloids, TV talk shows and internet....over and over again. If she wants sympathy, she is losing it for overdoing it. If she really loves her man like she preaches, she is making the situation worse talking about it in public. I really doubt that she is airing her grief. She is usug this as publicity and what a lousy subject to use!!

I am glad Rihanna is talking about this. Maybe it will help someone. If even one woman/girl walks away from an absive relationship because of this...it's a good thing.

she provoked the dude and now she wants sympathy. Think about it? Her lyrics for songs not released were darked and ensued violence, she gets attacked by someone who had a squeaky clean past, then goes on vacation with him shortly after the attack...and now thic chick wants to say F love. Sorry I am not buying it! She better be careful because karma is a B***H and God don't like ugly!

she should get her ass kicked more frequently, its done wonders for a dead end career

Rhianna. I am bored with you. Now go away.
