Australian music critics have greeted Britney Spears on her first concert tour down under with poor reviews and stories of fans walking out of her show. On top of that, government officials have been critical of the singer for her use of lip-syncing during performances. All the criticism has traumatized Spears."Britney is aware of all this and she's extremely upset by it," Paul Dainty, Spears' tour promoter, told The Australian on Monday. "She's a human being. I'm embarrassed, with such a big international entourage here with Britney, to be part of the Australian media when I see that kind of totally inaccurate reporting."

I pay money for LIVE shows - if I want lip-synch I will by a CD
She went into studio and recorded till it sounded nice. In a concert where she sings live it has to sound good at once and every time

Most live performances are awful. I love Bon Jovi but live they sucked. Leave Brittany alone. You all better watch out that stupid ass Chris Crocker is gonna come out and defend her again, then we will have to listen to him whine. lol

Chris Crocker is currently working in the studio, lip-syncing his reply..IMHO Ms Spears entire "career" is based on people either wanting to "do" her or be her, and since punching out a couple of kids, she has become a has-been, who has always been irrelevent.
You need to start going to concerts with some real talent! YES, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Paul McCartney, the Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Heart, Stevie Nicks, Tina Turner, all have talent, stamina, and give the paying public fantastic and memorable performances. Yes, they are older, but perhaps that is the problem, PR and technology have replaced true talent.

You're a youngster aren't you, haven't been to see many live performances. I have seen Led Zeppelin, The Stones, Pink Floyd, and on & on, their live performances are absolutely incredible. Have you ever seen the "Bos"in concert? More energy than Brit will ever bring. Ian Anderson in his prime was all over the stage, while singing and playing the flute, don't tell me that doesn't take stamina & energy. Brittany's success has all been hyperbole, she doesn't compare to the stars of the past, she's a fake.
This saga is not going to end well...have seen this act before...Mansfield, Monroe.sad.really.

Okay, this is confusing. First of all, Marilyn Monroe had talent. And WTF with the Mansfield reference? She was decapitated in a car accident. That was, I agree, a way of not ending well, but I do not see the relevance of mentioning her in this context.
Britney can lip sinc all she wants, I am pretty sure most poeople go to see the dancing, and yeah she does have hits, so talk all you want you haters, Britney still has more money than YOU! BIACH!

you said it and as long as she is lip- syncing her own voice i do not see the problem i have been to at least 50 concerts in my life and only 3 of the concerts i went to they sang the rest were lip syncing their own music. people expect to much out of our celebs today they are just like u and me except with a bigger bank account. brit rocks because everything she has been through and she is out there still doing her job.
I recently saw her in concert and absolutely loved it. Of course she lip syncs, who can jump, run and dance around and freaking carry a tune at the same time. You try it! She puts on a show and a damn good one in my opinion. I have been to numerous concerts including: tool, 3 doors down, brad paisley, kenny chesney, creed and many more. Those of you who spent 200+ on britney's tickets, well thats your own fault.

Yeah Laura I agree. Look Im not a fan of hers but I know I definitely cannot in any way shape or form do what she does and make millions at it! So give her some credit guys!! People who buy her tickets well thats their perogative and me well let me crawl back to my stupid job making little more than minimum wage while Brittany gets paid!!
James Brown could do splits, dance around, and still sing at the top of his lungs. Even if he was having an off-night, at least his delivery was real and honest, not fabricated and superficial. Britney is a total studio creation, and for some people, that's fine. They want to be entertained, and sadly the music and vocals come second, sometimes third. Nobody I know went to a Britney concert for the music.
Sorry, most people are paying to hear her sing as well as watch the show.
I've no problem with a singer who stays planted and sings, and lets their dancers and acrobats cover the snap and sizzle.
I shot and interviewed dozens of major acts in the 70's. They sang LIVE. THAT was the point of going on tour.
Performers who can't cut the tour should stay home, produce their work in the studio and do small venues.
Otherwise, charge me the same dollar I paid for the CD.

You are right...her plastic surgeon could do a pull up very easily...until then, an "aubade" bra might help. And don't all be banging on the Aussies for being "purists"....lip synching is not cool..or ethical.
