Demi Moore: Poster Girl for Cougars

As a 47-year-old woman with a husband 16 years her junior, Demi Moore is the prime example of a cougar. But don't call her one -- she prefers the term "puma."
"I'm certainly not the first person to be in a relationship with a younger man, but somehow I was plucked out as a bit of a poster girl," she says in the December issue of
W Magazine. "I don't know why that is. But I just kind of step back sometimes and say, 'There is some reason, and what is it that I have to share in a positive way?'...I'd prefer to be called a Puma."
After the jump, Moore talks about her relationship with Ashton Kutcher and the lack of movie roles for actresses her age.

Ashton's positive influence on her life: "The love he has for me makes me a better person by giving me the courage to take risks. I can fail and have someone who loves me just the same. I never knew it was quite possible."
On the lack of movie roles: "The frustrating part is that the type of roles I'd be interested in are not really coming to me. I hate to say it's a function of my age [47]-but yes, I think in some ways it is. The majority of [female] roles are geared between 25 and 35."
How motherhood changed her life: "One of the things that hit me very strongly was the realization that what we do is not who we are. I had worked my whole life. Until I became a mother, that's the only way I measured my value."
On how Twitter is transforming her image: "People are much more interested in what I have to say directly, and that really changed the whole dynamic I have with fans...I can't impress enough the difference in how people are perceiving me. They're getting to see who I am."

Please excuse my typo's in my original post. Looking at Demi makes me more confused than usual.
I think gooder than I type. Sorry!

Demi looks anorexic--way too thin and really unattractive! Maybe keeping up with a 30 something is wearing her out!

Poor Demi, *47* and too old for movies that have hi def which show scar and wrinkle. the only movies she did that had anything was where she was nude or semi nude.
Get over it, you are getting older and like the rest of us, we get older and can't date the young ones anymore and are the first to go whent there is a cut back.

She looks hot. I can't be the only one who thinks she looks absolutely beautiful. I'm a straight woman, and I can not be the only person who sees
physical beauty in this woman.
The only ugly thing here are the age-haters who just came of age with a computer, and who can dismiss every beautiful woman with writing that they are too this or too that or too old or too skinny or whatever. It must be fun for those haters to hate everyone and make fun of them.
Yes, everyone gets older. Even the age-haters who obsessivly post about how old someone is, when someone is 47, will one day turn 47, themselves.
If they make it due to their poor health and poor eating habits. Why all the hating for more spins around the globe? Age is irrelavant, but it is your only weapon in your war on age.
Having said that, Demi : You should start looking for good scripts or good books to turn into movies.
Employ those people you think fit your characters.
You have the money to do this. Start directing and make a big difference. You have the dough, now you can go, out and get it done. Good luck.

Anyone else think she looks like Courteney Cox?

Boo Hoo, not everyone gets what they want, all the time. Lesson learned.

She lost credibility when she married a man young enough to be her child. People stopped taking her seriously; she became a joke. She's desperate to stay young looking for her husband, which makes her unsuitable for "older women" roles, and she's unsuitable for "younger women" roles because everyone knows who she is, and they will only see Demi Moore up on the screen trying to pretend to be a young woman. The movie-going public knows how old she is. She either needs to look the part in a movie character who is her age, or she needs to come to grips with the reality that she will not get young character roles so she should move on to some other venture.

Is it only me, or has anyone else noticed that everything is about her? She enjoys Ashton Krotcher because he makes her feel good. Why not?? She's his cash cow. All of you comparing her to Meryl Streep...there's a big difference. Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren are true actresses. Demi Moore just wants to be part of the "brat pack" again. She never was a great actress, and never will be. Sunset Boulevard, anyone???

There is a lot of older actress out there in major movies...So, she needs a wake up call because her acting stinks now and has always in the past stank to high heaven.

I love Demi and think she is a good actress. Her range as an actress from Ghost to Striptease to GI Jane proves it. I think she could get the roles IF she wanted them.

I am a professional actor and have been for many years, so, I know more than a little about acting. Demi is now as always a beautiful, even gorgeous, woman and an amazingly talented actress. I could not possibly care less who she is married to, or what flop movies she has been in, if I were casting a movie with a role for a more mature woman like her, I would choose Demi in a New York second.
Older women will not always be as physically attractive as is Demi, however, they are nearly always much better actresses than they were in their youth. So, if you have the capacity to appreciate fine acting (which few do), then you will always be happier choosing to watch movies with older men and women in the leading roles.
At 75, I am a better actor than I was at 60. At 60, I was a better actor than I was at 50. At 50, I was a better actor than I was at 40, etc., etc. Great acting is a product of a great life, the more extended and well lived the life, the better the actor.
Were I her acting coach, I would counsel Demi to start taking voice lessons from the best "bel canto" style voice teacher she could find--not for singing...for building a great speaking voice. A totally free and thus immensely more expressive voice would broaden her acting opportunities by a country mile as it improved her capability to express her talent and versatility.

Here last comment "what we do is not who we are" now thats deep, although it means absolutely NOTHING, except whatever you want it to mean, and most people are exactly who they are BECAUSE of what they DO!!!!! Demi you are WAY too skinny, work out with weights at least, you use to look hot when you had a strong looking psysque, now you look way too skinny for your large bones, but your still beautiful and I would hire you to be in my personal movie, if I could afford you, you could briing along your boy toy and the ex Brucie-ducy.

You most-likely fat and/or ugly and obviously miserable about your own lives are without a doubt, tremendously jealous of this phenomenally youthful, gorgeous, sexy, smart and talented young lady, Demi Moore.
If you were happy with yourselves... or worked on your own looks ... you wouldn't be spending time putting others down. You are trying to make yourselves seem better, but you are just adding awful attributes to yourselves... AND... you are still ugly, bitter & completely out of shape.

She does have a nice set of Cha Cha's for an older lady...........very temperature sensitive.

I think Ashton is not a very bright person to begin with. As for Demi, if it wasn't for plastic surgery and lots of it she wouldn't look like she does. Her daughter goes beyond unattractive. I am really sick of these obnoxious people.
