Joe Jackson Wants to Dig Into Michael's Deep Pockets

Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, has requested a financial allowance from his son's estate according to the BBC.

"Mr Jackson's petition will be considered as are all requests for money from Michael's estate," said Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for the administrators of the late singer's estate. He added that it was "quite surprising to learn of the request".

Joe Jackson stated that his monthly expenses are $20,000 but he only receives $1700 from the estate according to court papers filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court. They also claimed the King of Pop's estate has earned approximately $100 million since his death on June 25th. The request will be assessed in a hearing expected to occur next year.

A judge approved monthly payments to Katherine Jackson, Michael's mother, as well as his daughter and two sons. The will omitted Joe Jackson. Both the previously approved payments as well the request for a new allowance may be evaluated at the same time to come to a judgment on Joe's request.

Joe Jackson reportedly does not have a regular source of income and has relied on payments from Michael through his wife Katherine for years, according to court documents. His sole source of income is social security payments stated Jackson's lawyers. They further claimed that Joe suffered a stroke 10 years ago and suffers from diabetes.

Joe listed air travel, hotel accommodation, meals out and rent for his Las Vegas home as expenses according to court papers.

Joe Jackson, 81, is the patriarch of the Jackson family. He was the original manager of the Jackson 5 and his shrewd artistic and business management sparked their success. However, his svengali-like handling of his children and reports of physical and emotional abuse have tarnished his reputation.

Oh I couldnt have said it better! Even if Joe was a good decent human and his son left him nothing, I would say he should have nothing, but he ISNT.
He is an abusive s.o.b. who mistreated his kids so that they would go out and earn him a living rather than having to work for one. Send his sorry butt to a shelter, or better yet, under a bridge. He doesnt deserve shelter. His wife needs her money cut if they prove she is giving him money, he deserves NOTHING. He put on such a big show when he saw MJ's show recently. What a louse.
Shame on you Katherine for giving your poor dead son's money to his abuser!! Save it for the babies!

That 81-year old man has expenses of 20,000 a month? No normal social security would be useful to this guy. My dad got close to $20,000 a year of social security and managed to live off that amount comfortably for years. Joe Jackson must get quite a few lap dances to spend that sort of money. I don't blame him for trying to get as much of his dead son's money as he can possibly get, but I thought if his name wasn't in the will, he wouldn't be able to get a penny. The living Jacksons are really lucky that the big money continues to roll in even after MJ's death. The whole family will be flush for the rest of their lives without having to lift a finger.

If MJ had wanted the SOB to have an allowance hed have done that in his will..by the way Joe its usually the PARENTS who die and leave their kids money ..at 81 I would say you are too old for an allowance from your child...many ppl live on 1700 a month and split that between 2 ppl, you are a joke and you worked your kids like circus animals and got your share ..what you never had that they had was talent..go live in an old folks highrise and stop being an arse

People what do you expect from a man who used his children to pay his way in life. How greedy this man is. His wife ought to be slapped for allowing this "fiend" to take advantage of her children. Fantastic!! This man has made serious money from his children and his late son excluded him from his will. Michael Jackson did not like his father and probably assumed he had more than enough money to live on. I hope the other Jackson kids tell him to go get a job!!!

Do you think M.J. forgot to leave his father out of the will? Not a chance! The law needs to recognize his final wishes.

I would think after all the times and terrible things he did to Michael, he would be praying for Michael's forgiveness instead of his money. Doesn't he get it? It's his karma.

I believe in my heart that Joseph Jackson has been given a bad reputation by the media. How can anyone say they love Michael Jackson and in the same breath detest his family? King Michael was borne of his father's loins. Joseph reared him, honed him, presented his talented family to the world. So Michael was at odds with his father's disciplinary style. OK. I am certain MANY of us are likewise at odds with our OWN parents with respect to same. The current will is old. More than one will also exists. Who is to say Michael would not have made changes? Death is always an unexpected host. If it were not for his father, and I don't mean a sperm doner, no Michael Jackson. Joseph is deserving of a portion of his child's estate.I pray some attorney out there can unearth legal grounds for him to get it.

I would like to say that I hate everthing that happened with Micheal and his father were they couldn't mend things before this tragedic accident, but hey things happen. Micheal has been dead for some months now everybody need to let Micheal rest in peace and quit worrying about his benefits. And as far as I can say If his dad is still married to his mother he should of known that's her husband and she's not going to leave him out of anything. I just wish that it could be some closure to the family with all of this they probaly haven't had no time to grieve due to all the tabloids camera crew and etc. Let these people get on with they're lives leave them alone, so that they can grieve and get on with they're lives.

I mean the man just died. Can't his father morn him before he morns his money. Joe Jackson has made it very clear how much he cares for his family. As long has their supporting him he cares. As soon as they stop he causes a scene. He needs to get on his knees and pray for forgiveness and thank god for giving him his family. He needs to remember his son's children who are griving their father. How must he look to them.
