Celine Dion No Longer Expecting Baby

Canadian singer and songwriter Celine Dion was pregnant in August, 2009 amidst a firestorm of reports claiming she was carrying an embryo that had been frozen in liquid nitrogen for the past several years.

In August, a rep for the "My Heart Will Go On" star confirmed her pregnancy, but sadly now a family source now tells In Touch, "While her and Rene are actively trying for a baby, she is not currently expecting."

Dion and her husband Rene Angelil had embryos frozen while trying to conceive their first child, Rene-Charles.

Dion is best known for technically skilled and powerful vocals.

I see no tragedy here. That word is used way too loosely. I do see lousy detail in reporting, though. It doesn't even say that she is no longer pregnant. Simply that she is not currently pregnant. Was she never pregnant in the first place? Did she miscarry? Was someone in the loop loopy? This is a non story. Quite a number of other women are also not pregnant.

Celine do not dispair. Perhaps I can be of some help through my msicarriage experience. I too was carrying 3 separate babies although mine was a natural occurance. I had to wait thru the Christmas holidays as my GYN told me that she was troubled my the high levels of HGH levels and the declining levels of "progesterone". As it turns out; the declining progesterone caused my miscarriage. May I suggest discussing with your doctor getting progesterone to help support your next pregnancy. Good Luck! I'll bet your baby gets to hear the sweetest lullabies.

Why would anyone want a baby - a 24/7 minimum 18 year old crying, pooping machine, then terrible twos. Then hideous teenager. Some people need to find another hobby. Celine can and should do alot of charity work with all of her money- she should not need or want another baby. Go to Africa or New Orleans, Celine and make some use of yourself and your money. And please don't sing that hideous Titanic song anymore. LOL

I'm not quite understanding....did she LOSE the pregnancy, or was she not pregnant to begin with (meaning, she was waiting for one of the frozen embryos to "take")? In any event, I hope they get their wish. They seem to have a lot of love to share with a child.

It is wierd to read the comments about how very sad people are about this. Celine is too old and her husband is waaayy to old to be having kids. The baby was probably retarded. If she wants another kid - adopt! Save the planet and adopt rather than producing more and more people. Your genes aren't that great that you need to try to get a carbon copy of yourself.

I feel sorry for her loss, HOWEVER there are plenty of unwanted and negelcted babies already on this earth, lets start taking care of what we already Have.

Adoption sometimes just isn't an option. I would rather have my own biological child than adopt. I don't think I would have the feelings for someone else's child like I would for my own.
They are in the position to pay..but a lot of people can't come up with the thousands of dollar it takes to adopt.. I am sure they have their reasons...

May the pregnancy go successfully the next time around.....many of us mothers know the loss of a child early on and it is painful.....Celine is by no means too old to have another child.....I wish her the very best.....

I am very sorry to hear that she has had a miscarriage. This is devastating to anyone who has ever gone through it. But unfortunately, this is nature's way of saying 41 is too old to be bearing children. Natural selection is supposed to play the main role in evolution, not liquid nitrogen.

After 13 yrs of infertility, I had my first baby and then the 2nd baby before the first turned two. I pray the Lord blesses them with more children. In a family that wants children, its so disappointing to lose a pregnancy. As a fan, I'd love to see her with a beautiful little girl. Her little boy is pretty enough to be a girl, but he's all boy.
