Fans Walk Out on Tracy Morgan During Raunchy Routine
Tracy Morgan brought his brand irreverent humor to the upper-crusty confines of NYC's
Carnegie Hall on Friday, but many fans were shocked and appalled by what they heard. According to the
NY Daily News, the
'30 Rock' star was "unspeakably filthy" throughout the show and inspired many customers to walk out in disgust. To be fair, Morgan made it clear who they paid to see: "You want the clean Tracy? Turn on the TV," he told them.
One audience member said people were "shocked and appalled with what was coming out of his mouth," including trash-talking about homosexuality (it's "a choice"), drugs, sex acts and pornography. One joke merged politics and the ever-growing catalog of celebrity sex tapes going around.
"Obama is really changing the White House, because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out," he said.
The News' spy reports "a continuous flow of people getting up and leaving throughout the show," including a legion of middle-aged women who grew uncomfortable when Moran began mimicking sex acts on stage.
Not everyone was appalled by his routine, though. Spike Lee and 'Rock' co-star Jane Krakowski were both in attendance and reportedly joined in on a standing ovation.
The former 'Saturday Night Live' comedian recently released a tell-all, 'I Am the New Black,' and even stopped by the PopEater offices to (cleanly) crack us up. Watch

Tracy Morgan Visits PopEater
"I just think that this was the right time. I mean, you know, I was mature enough. And I wanted to tell my story. I don't know how long I'm gonna be here, and I think, you know, the changing in the world and the president, all of those things that happened in world in the last two years inspired me," Tracy Morgan explains to PopEater why he wanted to write his book, 'I Am the New Black.'

As someone once said..."Profanity is a strong way of expressing a weak vocabulary." To Tracy: You were never funny. You came across as "the token." You can't hide a lack of talent with four-letter words and performing pseudo-sex acts that would only make a 7th grader blush. It's really sad that each time I saw you on SNL, I immediately was reminded of how much funnier SNL used to be during the Eddie Murphy era.
IMO, the WEAKER the mind, the filthier the talk.
I really dont know what Lorne Michaels was thinking when he hired Tracy. It's almost insulting to the great master pieces that came from that show...it's insulting to any one who knows better.
Amen, sister!
Phil,
That makes no sense. Just becuase a person cusses doesn't make them weak minded. Let go the dumb quotes. Notice how all the white people say his jokes are untolerable. Ask blacks and spanish about most white comedians and they'll say that they are cheesy and corny...so I guess it's only fair.
Phil, how do you feel about George Carlin? I bet you thought he was funny. Wasn't his mouth foul?
He's trash with a capital "T".

WHERE DOES HIS TALENT BEGIN ?
I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY ANYONE WOULD HAVE THE NEED TO WASTE THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THAT NO TALENT A$$HOLE.

Not sure what it is that inspires commedians to be so potty mouthed once they're on stage. Just seems like when they get up there they can't stop themselves because they think it is somehow cool. Richard Pryor was hilarious as a stand up but he felt compelled to drop so many curse words during his performances that it was decidedly not funny.
Kathy Griffin (allegedly a commedienne) is same way. During her performances she drops the F bomb so often the audience gets uncomfortable. So it is with Tracy Morgan. Yo Tracy, we're all adults, free speech and all that, but your constant swearing comes across as really sophomoric and purile and most of all uneducated. You CAN be funny without all that. Try it. Oh yeah, it gets offensive, even to those that are like you.

Did he just say Richard Pryor became decidedly unfunny because of his curse words? Now your a real comedian, because that was undoubtedly funny.

Not sure what you just said or were trying to say. Maybe this will answer your post. The Richard Pryor filthathon was not funny after the first two minutes of the act although Pryor was funny when he didn't feel obsessed to be so "cool" as to be cursing every sentence. Maybe it was the Lenny Bruce thing and the rush he got while swearing in front of a large audience. Yes it was that THAT made the whole act decidedly unfunny.
DITTO PHIL
YOUR RIGHT ON THE MONEY ! ;0)

Carnegie Hall, had to be great to play there at one time. Today, it's like everything else. Lower the standards.

Maybe his book should say "I am the washed up black"

Maybe you should keep race out of it (if you can), and deal with the issue at hand.
Carl, he was making a joke about the title of Tracy's new book, called "I am the New Black." There was nothing racially derogatory about his remarks. Stop being so f'n sensitive.
when you lack talent you resort to talking dirty or taking your clothes off
