Fans Walk Out on Tracy Morgan During Raunchy Routine
Tracy Morgan brought his brand irreverent humor to the upper-crusty confines of NYC's
Carnegie Hall on Friday, but many fans were shocked and appalled by what they heard. According to the
NY Daily News, the
'30 Rock' star was "unspeakably filthy" throughout the show and inspired many customers to walk out in disgust. To be fair, Morgan made it clear who they paid to see: "You want the clean Tracy? Turn on the TV," he told them.
One audience member said people were "shocked and appalled with what was coming out of his mouth," including trash-talking about homosexuality (it's "a choice"), drugs, sex acts and pornography. One joke merged politics and the ever-growing catalog of celebrity sex tapes going around.
"Obama is really changing the White House, because he and Michelle will have the first presidential sex tape out," he said.
The News' spy reports "a continuous flow of people getting up and leaving throughout the show," including a legion of middle-aged women who grew uncomfortable when Moran began mimicking sex acts on stage.
Not everyone was appalled by his routine, though. Spike Lee and 'Rock' co-star Jane Krakowski were both in attendance and reportedly joined in on a standing ovation.
The former 'Saturday Night Live' comedian recently released a tell-all, 'I Am the New Black,' and even stopped by the PopEater offices to (cleanly) crack us up. Watch

Tracy Morgan Visits PopEater
"I just think that this was the right time. I mean, you know, I was mature enough. And I wanted to tell my story. I don't know how long I'm gonna be here, and I think, you know, the changing in the world and the president, all of those things that happened in world in the last two years inspired me," Tracy Morgan explains to PopEater why he wanted to write his book, 'I Am the New Black.'

You're a classy person Codeguru.
You have a very pretty closet.
Moosie
I dont know of Mr. Morgan but from my few experiences with standup comedians, when they dont have an immediate impact in getting the crowds attention some will go for the shock value and start telling raunchy jokes. There is a certain type personality that actually likes this but most do not. At one of my class reunions one of the classmates was a comedian on HBO but he bombed bigtime up there and he just kept getting nastier by the minute until he was basically moved off. I felt sorry for him up there. I've gone to a couple of comedy clubs same effect. I guess its sort of like an athlete sometimes its just not your night.

What was offensive about either comment? Obama is susceptible to as many jokes as Bush was. It's refreshing to see a black person willing to crack a joke about him. Also, homosexuality IS a choice, and whether you agree with it or not, he has the right to feel the way he does. For the person who said, "Why would you CHOOSE to be homosexual in a homophobic society?" Well, first of all, you obviously have never heard of anyone wanting to be "different." Also, a question I want to ask you is, why do people CHOOSE to commit crimes, knowing they run the risk of being caught and thrown in jail/prison? Come on. You have no backbone here.

He is a stand-up comic and his routine consist of filth, if that is not your cup of tea then don't drink it!!!!
And to the guy who said he and his wife aren't prudes, I beg to differ, you knew what you were getting into before you stepped foot into his act....My brother and I once saw Don Rickels in Atlantic City, we had front row seats and the dude bombarded us with every black racial joke out there, did we get up and leave? hell no, we laughed our asses off!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leave it to a black person to slam a gay person. And you wonder why you don't get any respect? It's because you don't deserve it. As someone who has also appeared at Carnegie Hall, I can honestly say that I am one genetically made fa**ot that thinks you're one dumba** Ni**er.

I didn't know that only black comics take shots at gay people!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa lampanelli has the cleanest act in showbiz!!!
That's the problem with so many "comedians" today...they equate vulgarity with humor. Years ago comedians were funny, truly funny but now it's all sex and vulgarity because they don't have the talent to be just plain funny. MAD TV, SNL, The Family Guy, South Park and other "comedies" are crude and offensive with very little true humor.

a person uses profanity when they don't have anything else to say. You can still get some good humor WITHOUT all the 4 letter words. Now come on folks! Just because we only use 10% of our brains DOESN'T mean we have to revert to profanity to make people laugh. I tell people a lot of jokes, CLEAN jokes, that have them laughing hystericaly.

Tracy Morgan is a no-talent waste. He should count himself blessed for having the career he has so far, on the little talent that he possesses. He really IS vulgar normally, and anyone who's ever met him, or heard unfiltered interviews would know that. Hope he fades away, fast...

Anyone who really knows Tracy Morgan's brand of comedy remembers when he was at his most brilliant... raw and dirty with the mouth. He was hilarious on Def Comedy Jam, his potential shined on Fox's Uptown Comedy Club, and he was great live on stage, just like Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock. Just because Tracy Morgan does prime time family hour, doesn't mean he can't go back to his roots.

Several friends and I saw him live a couple of years ago and he was unbelievably vulgar. That wasn't the problem though ... he just wasn't funny. When you resort to being vulgar for vulgar sake, it shows a lack of talent.

In my opinion thats the problem with black generally speaking the only thing on their minds is sex. they dont have the unmarried mother population by accident. the jails are full of sex offenders of color. get a little education and their vocubulary would greatly improve beyond sex relation topics.

Excuse me. I am an educated African women who was raised in a two parent household and waited until I was married to have children. Do not classify all African-Americans as the same category. I also hold a bachlors degree going for my masters and married a college educated man. I was raised to only accept the best and I won't tolerate someone belittling our race. You should check your facts before you broadcast them on the internet. Our President is African-American for GOD sakes, he doesn't have any of the qualities you speak of and he is also a married man.
He is not funny, never has been, including on SNL and 30 Rock. He thinks blatant crudity aimed at offending anything that breathes and thinks is the height of hilarity. It often can be, but not with his annoying delivery, lame material, lack of timing, idiotic facial expressions, body language and diction. He's just another in a long line of modern celebs making a killing that make me wonder what in the hell is wrong with our current tastes and bs meters. In the token fat or black SNL cast member category, Kenan Thompson aces that fool by miles.

I saw Tracy live once. That was enough. Yes, they warned us that the show would be filthy. I didn't have a problem with that at all. But I did pay to see funny, and he wasn't funny at all. I did like some of his stuff on SNL, but haven't been able to watch 30 Rock since I went to that awful show.
