On Monday, John Travolta made his first red carpet appearance since the death of his son Jett in January. Travolta showed up with wife Kelly Preston and their daughter, Ella Bleu, at the LA premiere of 'Old Dogs,' Ella's first movie in which she stars alongside her dad. "We decided it was OK to come out and promote, to introduce her to the world and to give her a beautiful future in film," said Travolta. The nine-year-old actress got plenty of attention on the red carpet from her parents, who kept planting kisses on both her cheeks.John Travolta Snapshots

I love the Travoltas! I mourn their sorrow. But they are both strong and loving and they will get through this tragedy with Jett in due time. One cannot rush grief. You have to go through it, live it, breathe it and eventually accept it. GOD BLESS and may you remain strong for Ella, she needs more attention now than ever.

i feel for the travoltas for losing their beloved son but i feel is to soon to be out in public. come on this is a son they lost not a pet. just seeing kelly all glamour out with her makeup and hair done makes me sad. it seems like they are enjoying to be out again and forgeting they lost a son who not just suffer from seizures but also autism. they only one i feel compassion for is jett. john seems to be all calm on all the tv shows he has been on. he is laughing and kissing ella. i did not see any sadness on his face at all. i guess he is starting to heal and jett will be forgotten. i will always pray for jett's soul and hope that someday john will come out and say what really happened to jett.

What are they suppose to do crawl up and die...I'm sure at times they would want to BUT they still have a daughter who needs them very much and she deserves that from them. Just because she gets all glamed up and they manage to put on a smile, if only for there daughter, that in no means that they are over Jett or have forgotten him... get a grip!

Did you ever loose a child? I lost my son 20 years ago he was 12 and today I still feel that loss as though it were yesterday. Only a parent who lost a child knows what it feels like and it's hundreds more painful than losing my mother.BUT they do have a daughter who is still living or was she susposed to die to. She needs there love even more now and it was her big day. Was she susposed to go to her debut by herself? Get real lady.

Nena, what are you talking about. I too have just suffered a tremendous lost 9 mos ago. My young healthly loving brother woke up with a pain and had cancer all over died in five short months. This is part of their healing process too. Just because they are out in public you do not know their suffering, pain and despair behind close doors. Jett would have wanted them to go on. Especially for their daughter. Don't speculate until you have been through it.

are you kidding? I think they are one of the few good people in Hollywood and I applaud them for moving on for their daughters sake. She did nothing wrong and she deserves as much happiness as possible. Of course they are sad and miss their son, but they don't have to be sitting on the pitty pot everyday just to prove they loved their son. I work with autistic and other disabled children. All parents handle the huge responsibility in a different way, coping the best they can. You shouldn't be judging these people that seem to be devoted loving parents. You really piss my off.

unless you've lost a child, you have no clue, nor any right to judge the Travoltas. People grieve in there own way & there own time. I lost my daughter 5 years ago. I also have a son & he lost his sister as well. I miss her everyday, but how I choose to act is my own business. Not yours. How dare you tell them not to smile ! Would you rather they crawl in a hole & die & take there precious daughter with them. Oh yeah..that's the solution, right, Nena??? Walk in there shoes, as I do daily, but even then...you have no right to judge. Remember this: "Death leaves a heartache, no one can heal...Love leaves a memory, no one can steal"

It's been almost a year! You think they should just stay locked up in their home and become hermits to the world?! It's healthy for them to get out. And so what if there is no so called "saddness" on John Travolta's face...he is an actor remember, perhaps he is being a good parent and ACTING happy for his daughers sake. I mean seriously, should this family let their grief dictate their lives? I honestly can't believe how ridiculous your comment is.

Nena - Seriously???? Are you freakin' serious??? These people have been mourning their son nonstop for nearly a year. These are the types of good and decent parents that will endure much more sadness and grieving to come, but at the same time, they have a little girl that still depends on them to love and nurture her. SO WHAT if they all wanna go out and have a good time? SO WHAT if they wanna smile and laugh??? They deserve to finally have a teensy bit of joy! Get your head outta your butt and stop making idiotic comments! Geez!

YOU ARE A COMPLETE IDIOT !!!!!!
THEY WILL MOURN FOREVER, THEY ARE TRYING TO
LIVE AGAIN!
WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE EVEN ALLOWED TO SPEAK ?????
YOU ARE JUDGMENTAL THIS WAS THEIR SON, NOT YOURS!
YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY HOW THEY FEEL BASED UPON
WHAT YOU SEE ON TV OR IN THE NEWS. THEY ARE CRYING
AT HOME NOT IN PUBLIC!
YOU ARE AN IDIOT! NOTHING MORE CAN BE SAID TO YOU!

Unless you've lost a child you have no clue what the Travolta's are going through. I HAVE lost a child. The pain is unimaginable and never ending. It becomes a part of who you are for the rest of your life. But they didn't die. They have another child to raise. By "getting on with their lives" they teach their daughter the simple truth that life does go on and is for the living. She IS the one thing they're living for now (as my living children are for me). By living the best life they can, as well as they can, they pay homage to their late son. Jett wouldn't want it any other way. I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of either John or Kelly. But I know their anguish. They will ache for Jett every day for the rest of their earthly lives. I admire their strength and wish them the peace their hearts long for.

it is very good to see them out and about. it is indecribably tough to lose someone you love so much and i am sure the last thing they want or need is cameras in their faces. i commend them and their courage to do this. and certainly continue to pray.

I guess nena would prefer that the travoltas go into a depressed downward spiral... cry publicly for her to "share" in their anguish..... and you wanna know who reads the "National Inquiror"?
