Put Down the Phone: Celebrity Voicemail
Posted Tuesday 10 November 10:01 AM By: Jo Piazza

We at PopEater firmly believe the first rule of being a celebrity is simple: Don't make a sex tape. You never know where that sexy romp in Cabo is going to show up right before you accept your first Academy Award. But the second rule of being a celebrity or even of working with celebrities is this: If you don't want the world to hear about it, don't leave it in a voicemail message. The world's worst father
Michael Lohan has been releasing every personal voicemail dealing with his daughter
Lindsay Lohan ever recorded on his phone (he must not have an iPhone because our messages get erased after 30 days).
Hopefully people will stop leaving Papa Lohan such scandalous messages, but we highly doubt that is going to happen, which is why we want to take a look back at past celebrity voicemail leaks to show everyone that unfortunately, in Hollywood, history just keeps repeating itself.
Alec Baldwin calls daughter a rude little pig:
Alec Baldwin's voicemail message to his 11-year old daughter Ireland was leaked in 2007 and documented Baldwin saying Ireland was a "rude little pig" who needed to have her "ass straightened out" after she had "humiliated me for the last time." In an interview with Playboy this year the Emmy Award winning 30 Rock actor admitted that after the phone message was exposed he contemplated killing himself.
"It's one of the reasons why celebrities need publicists. They are only human and act on instinct, passion and emotion. A publicist will help formulate the response to reflect the image that's more fitting for the public. Otherwise you just get expletives, foul language, insults, and rage. Sometimes rightfully so, but nonetheless, a little too raw for public consumption," explains Life & Style Weekly executive editor Jared Shapiro.
Charlie Sheen calls Denise Richards the c-word and inexplicably the n-word:
In the midst of the couples divorce proceedings an angry Richards released three-year old voicemail messages from an even angrier Sheen that contain so many expletives it is difficult to even reprint them. But we will give it a shot.
"I'm just really f***** mad and you owe me a phone call... If I did the same s*** to you, you'd be f***** furious. You're a coward and a liar and a f****** n*****."
Charlie later made a public apology, singling out Tony Todd, an African-American, who was the best man at Sheens first two weddings.
Kim Kardashian blasts Ray J for leaking sex tape so he leaks angry voicemails:
Before Kim Kardashian was famous just for being famous on E!, she dated Ray J and the pair made a home-made video together that found its way onto the internet. Kim was convinced this was all Ray J's doing but he wouldn't return her calls to talk things out like adults, so she left the following 1 minute and 37 second long message on his voicemail: "You are so disgusting and so desperate you make yourself look so suspicious by not returning my calls. Don't call me back. I think you're honestly a sick human being who is desperate to get attention you're just sick so don't ever call me again. Lose my f****** number and never call me again you disgusting desperate [crazy ear splitting scream.]"
"People who choose to be actors/ celebrities rank higher on the narcissism scale than those who don't and as a result when they begin to achieve success their whole sense of right and wrong and what does/does not apply to them gets skewed," explains psychologist and author of 'The Cult of Celebrity' Cooper Lawrence. "Plus they are highly impulsive so they are not thinking of the consequences (what if these tapes get out) impulsive people react in the moment and deal with consequences later."
