Adam Lambert's Lonely Heart Is Mending

'American Idol' runner-up Adam Lambert has the support of winner Kris Allen as he tries to survive his own lonely hearts club after breaking up with boyfriend Drake LaBry, reports E! Online. "He's doing good," Allen said at the 'People's Choice Awards' nominations announcement. "He's obviously not completely happy about it, but I think it was something that needed to happen."

Post-'Idol', the two competitors are still in contact. "We see each other every once in awhile, and we text all the time," Allen said.

Both singing phenoms are releasing solo work. Allen has a self-titled album due for release on November 17th and Lambert's 'For Your Entertainment' comes out on November 23rd.

Allen, 24, defeated Lambert, 27, in the eighth season of 'American Idol.' The result was controversial as commentators constantly fawned over Lambert and he was widely considered the front runner. Almost 100 million votes were cast and Allen won by less than a million. When asked by Rolling Stone whether his sexual orientation affected the final vote, Lambert laughed and said "probably."

The transition into a successful musical career can be difficult for 'Idol' contestants, but Allen has been seeking advice from some of the show's most successful grads.

"David Cook has done his thing for a year, and he's been very successful at it," enthused Allen. "Chris Daughtry is obviously very, very successful with what he's done. They've both stayed really grounded and really cool. I've talked to them a little bit," he added.

When asked what was their best advice, Allen replied with one word. "Sleep," he laughed. "That's what they tell me-sleep when you can!" he exclaimed.

Two talented good-hearted guys like Kris Allen and Adam Lambert being friends is great for both of them. They can help and support each other in a really intense business. The controversial phone voting is over, they have moved on, both CDs sound wonderful and enough sleep and good friends will always be golden keys.

I love Adam but this article is kinda hilarious! Adam's lonely heart? I highly doubt Adam has a second to be lonely right now. Kris adding comments about it just makes it even more funny. I'm sure Kris was just asked a question and answered as best as he could and then the writer decided to base the article headline on that. But still, it's funny. :-)

I also think Adam and Katy look like siblings...even if Adams hair is dyed. It's also great that Adam and Kris stayed friends.. Although my preferece to win was Adam by a longshot, Kris took it by only a little...and thats mainly because of the haters that dont like gays...I love Adam, I wish he wasn't gay but he is & that dont make him hate him. I fell in love with his singing NOT him, him I just like for he is true to himself. He is going to go a long long way in his career. Hell he was chosen to do the soundtrack of a very hi-profile movie 2012. As for Kris..he sings good, but his singing bores me. I dont read much about him. He dont make front news at all...NOT like Adam. Good Luck ADAM....and you too Kris!

The producers have never made the vote tally public, so this statement is in error, unless you have some new inside information.

LOL.....No one ever said Kris Allen won by less than a million votes. In fact, 19 has repeatedly said it was not necessary to ever reveal the # simply because the margin was so large that it was embarrassing. I like Adam and dont think this is a reflection of him or his career it is just the nature of his fans. Kris Allen fans are die-hard dedicated and Adams fans are liberal and laid back. I dont see his fans texting for 4 solid hours like Kris Allen fans. Point is.....it was not close.

Gosh I was such a fan of Adam's, he has such musical talent BUT I feel he has lost a lot of respect along with a lot of album buyers...I love Elton John's music and would still buy it...but Adam has shot his fame and fortune in the rear end...right !!! go back in the closet...I can't imagine ever wanting him as American Idol....my how we change once we THINK we have made it..Adam..remember where you came from dear...Lots will forget you now and thats for sure. You have sure marred the American Idol runner up title...so be it.........
