Brad Paisley Gets Kanye'd During CMAs

Taylor Swift had a night to remember at the 43rd Annual CMA Awards, sweeping all the major honors she was up for (full coverage at The Boot). But even as the awards keep racking up for the young star, she can't seem to escape the moment in September when Kanye West interrupted her.

On two occasions at the CMAs (one intentional, the other not so much) her fellow Nashvillians had a bit of fun with the oft-parodied episode, with co-host Brad Paisley getting the joke on him. First, Grand Ole Opry star Little Jimmy Dickens interrupted Carrie Underwood when she was praising Paisley's song 'Welcome to the Future.' Watch:

Dickens, 88, crashed the stage as Paisley was about to thank Underwood for her compliment, saying: "Excuse me, sir ... I'll let you finish later. I know you had a nice video and all, but Taylor Swift made the best video of all time. Of all time! You go, girl!"

Paisley laughed it off: "What kind of security do we have that a 4 ft., 9 inch, 85-year-old man gets by it?"

Later, as the show was coming to an end, Paisley was marveling at how Swift had just won the night's biggest award, for Entertainer of the Year, when Underwood cut him off. "How 'bout that?" Paisley said. "Nineteen-years-old ...Congratulations, Taylor. What a night. I can't even imagine a better ..." when Underwood -- who was up for many of the same awards as Swift -- interjected and asked the crowd, "And how were we? We were awesome!"

Ok has it ran it's course yet? Heck no! Let's see Kenya has had the first African American President our Commander and Chief (remember Kenya stating that George Bush didn't like blacks) called him an "Ass". Then it seems he keeps opening up that big mouth of his sticking that over glorified foot into it. His ego just kept going like the eveready bunny. Now he manages to have the CMA's as a whole and that is a pretty big "WHOLE" making jokes of his behavior at the VMA's. Tyler Swift should really thank him since it was his behavior (although her music is simply great) skyrocketed her into stardom although she was well on her own way there. Oh Kanye when will you relize what you are doing to yourself? If I may offer some motherly advise being that I am a Mother of two grown men 21 and 25 yrs old who know their manners and when to not interrupt. "Be Quite"

Taylor was WAY popular before the whole Kanye thing so to say that he "sky rocketed her into stardom" is plain silly. She is the youngest and only country star to top the billboards surpassing all other music types. When a country star can get on the same billboards as Beyonce and Slipknot, she has made it - and this was WAY before the whole "Imma let you finish" BS. "The more you know..." *insert star streak*

Your commentary (about Carrie Underwood interrupting Brad Paisley at the end of the CMAs) was incorrect in stating that Underwood was nominated in the same category (Entertainer of the Year) as winner Taylor Swift. However, it would have been accurate to say that Paisley was up that award...and trying to graciously close the show just moments after not winning the night's biggest award.

TAYLOR SWIFT - ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR. SHE CANNOT SING - SHE CANNOT SING - SHE CANNOT SING. She could not carry a tune with fifty muscled men carrying it for her in a basket. What is with the people in Nashville? I love country music, have for 67 years. I am not tone deaf. I think everyone else in Nashville is tone deaf. TAYLOR SWIFT CANNOT SING. EVERYONE SAY IT. I completely concur. The kid is sweet and seems humble. But really? She's no entertainer of the year, or of the month for that matter. Can't carry a tune, awkward in moving around and just seems "slow" in the noggin. Someone IS paying her way to the top. She's done by 25, if that long.

She's definitely not a top rate country singer, but her songs are great, and it is enjoyable to listen to her. And those songs are her songs; she wrote all of them, something that few country artists do. So, maybe she's not the one with the greatest voice, but she is the one that most enjoy listening to.

Since when has the kind of mediocrity which leaves Taylor Swift's mouth passed for quality singing?

I'm not saying the girl shouldn't have a career... she writes catchy songs and, if I'm being honest, isn't difficult to look at, but Female Vocalist of the Year? I don't think so.

You are all entitled to your opinion about Taylor Swift as is anyone else is. But it sounds to me that some of you maybe alittle jealous that a beautiful young woman can get to where is she is such a short time and if you don't like country music don't listen to it. She is very talented (a good singer in my opinion as well as to the several thousands of people who buy her albums and go to her concerts) and she's a very good role model to young girls everywhere. They can relate to her. I have a 13 year old daughter and she admires Taylor and I would rather her look up to someone as good and decent as Taylor than alot of the other girls in the spotlight. You don't hear of her running around getting drunk, partying and doing what some of the other teenage to middle twenty entertainers do. I don't agree that the incident with Kayne skyrocketed Taylor to the top...she was VERY successful before that incident with a sold out tour that she headlined herself. Kayne just needs to be quiet and think of how ashamed his mother would be for his actions. He needs to think BEFORE he speaks and learn some manners. Taylor has a VERY long and successful career ahead of her.

None of them are country singers.They all add a fiddle or a banjo to there song and now they are country. Darius Rucker and the Eagles are now country artists. When did that happen. He still sounds like Hootie to me. There were three nominees that sing country music there last night.Reba,George Strait and Martina Mcbride were the only ones.

And lets not forget who is coming back to make his name in country music again Garth... I think he is the one that started this lets sing pop songs and call ourselves country fiasco.Sugarland country...wtf

For all those claiming that what nashville is producing isn't country.
thirty years ago, I had a discussion of country music with the father of my high school girlfriend. he claimed that George Jones, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Waylon and Willie were not country. According to him, they were a bunch of drunken, drugged up convicts and degenerates who couldn't hold a candle to Maybelle Carter, Tex Ritter, and Cowboy Copus. Thirty years from now, Mcgraw, Urban, and Swift will be held up as the true country stars, while the new stars of that time will be criticized. Times change.

for the lady that saids this is good for her 13 year old its seems most mothers with daughters love her thats great but put her in the pop side! not country music plus if she sang on the rock of side would you still like her there is a place of time why is it all the new singers always try to go through country music field to get to fame and fortune! i have been in the country music field for 42 years and i teach music and play in a real country band with a girl singer and she also said this girl can not hold a tune or a chord put her on a chord scale and she is all ways flat and rough i think some of you need to look at some of the great singers like connie smith.dottie west,jeannie sealy. now there is some great singers in country music ,and for those who mock ,and say drugs .beer,are a factor in some of the older male singers, get a grip on it you think these girls are ok to look and provoke sexy moves and clothing but this is ok! country music lets everybody in no matter what the sing and jelousness i dont think so i think some people just want to hear good country music and are sick of what nashville did in the past five to eight years its all about the money and nothing else greed like our goverment,

i consider her a crockpop terrible!!country ,rock,pop we need to find more of these type of bad singers for nashville to fill up there pockets with money and also for this starving need of bad entertainment for those people that think this is music
