'Jon Stewart Was Right,' Hannity Admits in Footage Flap

Footage used in Sean Hannity's report on last week's anti-health care reform rally conjures a famous song lyric: "All the leaves are brown." The FOX News host was caught beefing up the attendance at the Nov. 6 event by showing clips from the much-much-larger Tea Party rally in September, when the trees bordering the Mall in Washington were flush with live leaves.

Jon Stewart and his 'Daily Show' writers found this oddity and proceeded to mock the No. 1 news network for the mistake. Hannity, for his part, admitted to the screw-up and apologized. Watch Stewart's report, then the apology:

"Although it pains me to say this, Jon Stewart ... he was right," he said. "We screwed up. We aired some video of a rally in September along with a video from the actual event. It was an inadvertent mistake, but a mistake none the less. So, Mr. Stewart, you were right. We apologize."

But he also gave his watchdogs a shout-out: "We wanna thank you and all your writers for watching."

In truth, only local races show any democrat loss at all. In fact republicans are taking the biggest hits on the national level because they con tinue their obstructionist tactics and are blocking the will of the people. Yes, using old footage in news stories is an everyday occurrence. That is why they post it as file footage.

I still think it was hilarious the September tea bagger party where they said there were a million. Turned out they used a 12 year old picture from the Promise Keepers rally.

The National Museum of the American Indian wasn't in the picture as it should have been for any rally this year, because it had been built in 2004. Next, the tea baggers probably use some fake photo in NYC and the Twin towers will still be there.

Shameless.

Everyone is missing the point of this debate. It is not about Hannity vs. Stewart or Republicans vs. Democrats. The issue of the debate is whether we as Americans want to live with the liberty and freedom that our Founding Fathers fled Europe to establish, and fought so hard for. Or do we want to live under a repressive European socialist type of government.
