Wondering why 'Doc Ellis,' 'Trista Joy Lathern,' and 'Stephanie Meyer on Oprah' are surging in Google Trends? We can shed some light on the mystery. Google Trends provides the hottest keywords of the hour. Though the results change frequently, the list offers a snapshot of what's hot in the world of entertainment news. Here's what's steamin' tonight...Stephanie Meyer on Oprah – Oprah gets all the best guests. Earlier this week the show featured the first ever interview with Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi. On Wednesday Charla Nash took off her veil for the first time on the show. And today 'Twilight' mastermind Stephanie Meyer appeared on the show for her only interview before 'New Moon' hits theaters on November 20. Oprah teased viewers before a commercial break, asking if Meyer will write a fifth book in 'The Twilight Saga.' Producers never aired the answer because of time constraints, but the author answered the question backstage. "I am a little burned out on vampires right now," she said. "I might go spend some time with my aliens. I might do something completely different. I've got to cleanse the palate. I may come back to it. I did envision it as a longer series. But I wrapped 'Breaking Dawn' in a way that I felt satisfied with, so if that moment didn't come, I'd be okay."
Trista Joy Lathern – Trista Joy Lathern was arrested on Wednesday for accepting over $10,000 under false pretenses. She claimed she had breast cancer and, well, she didn't. She shaved her head to make it appear true, and held a fundraiser with four bands, a bake sale and a raffle to finance her make-believe treatment. The money she collected did end up going towards the health of her bosom, but not in the way any of the donors imagined. Trista Joy spent the money on a boob job.
Russian Roulette Rihanna Video – It's time to pull out that um-ber-ella all over again. Rihanna is back and raining hits on your head yet again. "Russian Roulette" is the first single from her fourth studio album 'Rated R.' In the just-released music video, the vixen (she's not quite a "diva" yet, right?) looks sexy and watches as her man plays Russian roulette.
Doc Ellis – Major League Baseball's legendary LSD-fueled no-hitter has gone viral, thanks to the above animated vid produced by No Mas. Doc Ellis didn't think he was scheduled to pitch on June 12, 1970. It was the perfect day to turn on, tune in and drop out, which he did. And then he discovered he was indeed scheduled to step on the mound. "The ball was small sometimes," Ellis recounts, "the ball was large sometimes, sometimes I saw the catcher, sometimes I didn't." At one point he thought Richard Nixon was the umpire and Jimi Hendrix the batter. Nobody got a hit against Ellis that night, and now he's a legend.
Harrison Barnes – Harrison Barnes will be a very rich man one day, but first he needs to play a year of college basketball. The number one recruit in the nation picked where that year will elapse: the University of North Carolina. Scouts say he'll likely jet for the NBA after that, where he'll make the kind of funny money you can only dream of. Keep working on that jump shot, grow a foot or two, and maybe you'll make the dream a reality, too.
William Jefferson Sentenced – Former Louisiana congressman William Jefferson won't be accepting freezers full of bribe money any time in the near future. The 62-year-old Democrat was sentenced to 13 years in prison on Friday for bribery, money laundering and racketeering. Jefferson reportedly used his high status to demand cash from businessmen which he used to pay his daughters' college tuition.
