The pair -- who are both black -- has been left off the promotional photo in the U.K., while the rest of the white actors remain.
According to The Daily Mail, Universal -- the studio behind the film -- claims they wanted to "simplify" the posters for the English audience. However, they apologized for offending anyone.

They should not want to promote this horrible image. These controlling images of african americans are tired! They always show African-American women as hypersexual, loose women who can't keep a man. Give me a break.

Let's make all blacks happy & make everything black, Jesus, Santa Claus, Michael Jackson. Instead of worrying about a movie poster, try cleaning up your neighborhoods & stop killing people. Maybe you can form a "movie poster march" & take off work again.............dopes!!

Frank, Blacks will work to clean up our neighborhoods. You work to clean up your trailer parks and meth labs. Then maybe we can work together to stop the violence that is affecting all races, creeds and colors.
I am black and I do not care that they took out the black couples. Black people are not starting some kind of riot over this. Who cares. I don't live in Britain. Maybe, we can focus on something more important than a change in a movie poster.
But do you notice that even in the american poster they at way,way in the back. Funny is'nt it

Funny stuff!

They were left out of some American posters too. You can barely see them in the other poster.

This is a racist move, as it once again shows the "devaluation" of actors of color. Both posters show a lack of respect for the black actors, as they are in the background of the American poster and totally left out in the British poster. Things need to change and it has to start with us. Spend our money else where and spport the actors/actresses of color in other venues...

how about supporting good actors in general. the two black actors were not good enough, or did not fit the criteria for lead roles, so they were not put in the foreground. it would be stupid of me to decide not to watch dr. dolittle because they had a black dude, a dog, and a bunch of farm animals, but no white guy! wtf, they ranked us honky's lower than a duck. racist studios!
this is too funny. americans simplifing things for the brits? lol. brits have forgot more than americans learn in schools.

What's worse? Editing the black characters out of the English version of the poster, or sticking them all the way in the back of the American one?

I dont know why everyone has to be offended about everything. Who cares if the got cut out of the poster. What offeneds me is black Heritage month, Pageants just for black people, scholarships just for black people, Ebonics and all the other crap that is forced down on us to help lift up the black people. I am not even white and I can see that they are the race that needs to be more proud of who they are and start demanding respect and stop apologizing all the time.

OK-in the british version...is it just me or does it look like there's a face between the center white coiples heads? Is that Kali hawk? Cause thats just weird if it is.....I'm visually impaired so i cant tell....

lol i dont see that
lol-its just his (vince vaughn i guess?) shoulder and part of his lei! LOL-i HATE being half blind.....
No, that's his shoulder in shadow above her shoulder behind a few locks of hair. That part (with his arm around her), at least, is worse than the American poster (just holding hands)
isnt this kindof insulting to brits too? Why does their poster need simplifying exactly? are they stupid? I have this feeling that they are being seen as a sterotype of an entirely white country...which is entirely wrong....
