Beyonce & Lady Gaga's Eyeball Popping 'Video Phone'

Watching Beyonce and Lady Gaga's music video 'Video Phone' made us dizzy because of the eyeball-popping colors and head-spinning edits. Honestly, watching it might be harmful to your health. (And what's with the duo manhandling AK-47s?) But interestingly enough, Lady Gaga is toned down and looks, dare we say, normal.

There have been mixed reviews on the video that just debuted November 16. The NY Post wasn't sold on the video: "In a massive attempt to bring hype and shock, Beyonce has released her video for 'Video Phone' featuring eight new looks... and glorified back-up dancer Lady Gaga. I will admit the video is pretty to look at, and Lady Gaga holds her own... but the womanizing undertones and dance for your dinner chair routine have my tummy feeling icky."

Even Creative Loafing questioned some of the video antics, "Why exactly was Lady Gaga in this video? Her voice adds nothing to what was actually a pretty mediocre song. And the dance sequence with Beyonce and Lady Gaga? Hey, Gaga can't keep up with Beyonce's poppin' and shakin.' (But, then, who can?!) On top of that, Gaga looks a little emaciated next to the more athletic B. Regarding other aspects of the video, what's up with all the guns? Not sure what that has to do with a video phone."

Gaga told MTV that she wanted to honor Beyonce for creating her own style. "I wanted to [work with her] because this was an era for her in her career where she defined herself aesthetically," she said. "And that should be applauded that a woman did that. She's so great at what she does."

Gaga revealed she told Beyonce, "I don't want to show up in some frickin' hair bow and be fashion Gaga in your video.' I said, 'I want to do you.'"

And how does Beyonce feel about the 'Poker Face' singer? As she told PopEater, "I always admired [Lady Gaga's] work, and she really committed to the song and the video. Everyone was in their zone and that's when you make art. She and I had an effortless connection and mutual respect for each other."

Not bad, not great, the music had some catchy hooks. I'm always ripping on GAGA, but she looked a heck of a lot hotter and more attractive than Beyonce. If GAGA would try to follow through with this style, showing off how attractive she is and letting people focus on her talent, she would leave the others far behind. Speaking of behind, Beyonce needs a warning placard hung or her behind. Throwing that much booty around someone could get seriously hurt.

It's fun to see Gaga looking normal, and I loved her and Beyonce doing the dance together, but what the hell is with the plastic guns??? I'm really confused about what they have to do with the song (which, by the way, is not a very good song at all). I enjoyed the video though, interesting collaboration.

Its only a video people. If kids have music artist as role models that is the parents fault. Parents should be role models for their kids. Teach them the difference between real and fake.

Beyonce is always hot!! Haven't yall heard shake your money maker! She probably will make more with that video and song regardless of how great or not it is than most people will earn in a lifetime. you are only young once. Get it while the getting is good. She can do anything she wants as long as she looks that damn sexy doing it. Dig?

What happened to you Beyonce? I think you are a beautiful and very talented young lady, why must you portrait yourself in such a way? I know that these days everything is about sex because "it sells", but have some class and tell those dang agents and record producers that you are not going to make another video in your underwear. You will make just as much money with your clothes on as you do without them. People love you and appreciate your music. As for Lady Gaga, leave her out next time, nothing she does is ever any good.

I think Beyonce is beautiful and I agree with a lot of you, she should rely on talent and not her body. I really don't understand what the guns had to do with anything. Also Lady Gaga actually looked pretty in this video. It was a change from her norm. I like the video because of the colors but I don't really get what the plot or the point of the video was.

The video was interesting at SOME parts, but mostly it was just repetitive and meaningless. And the song, I have to agree, is mediocre at best, musically. The lyrics are pretty empty and overall, the song and the video just seemed like "SE-E-E-EX" drawn out for five minutes.

Beyonce is beautiful, sexy, multi-talented and rich. She is obviously enjoying her life and career, and has worked long and hard to get there. I like the fact that she doesn't hold back in performing and is true to who she is at this point in time. She should enjoy it while she can. If I had that gorgeous body I'd be poppin' my booty too. I loved the video and think she and Lady Gaga did a great job. It's just entertainment people...lighten up.

Beyonce should've put her in a different video, to really show how good they could be together as good artists. well i like them both, buh the video could've ben improved before released.
