Only Jaycee Dugard and her family should decide if a film based on the 18 years she spent in captivity should be made, reports the AP.
Dugard family spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer described a prospective movie as "exploitive, hurtful and breathtakingly unkind." The comments were made in response to plans by low-budget horror film director Shane Ryan to start production on 'Abducted Girl, An American Sex Slave,' a movie chronicling the Dugard kidnapping.

The comments were made in response to plans by low-budget horror film director Shane Ryan to start production on 'Abducted Girl, An American Sex Slave,' a movie chronicling the Dugard kidnapping.
Ryan revealed that he would focus on the relationship between Dugard and Phillip Garrido, the husband of the couple charged with abducting, raping and holding her captive in their backyard during an interview with Sacramento's KCRA television station.
Ryan has developed a reputation for making cheap horrors like 'Amateur Porn Star Killer' and 'Romance Road Killers.'
Jaycee Dugard, 29, was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her South Lake Tahoe, California home in June 1991. She resurfaced in the office of Garrido's parole officer in August 2009. She gave birth to two daughters aged 11 and 15 during captivity.
