Johnny Depp Named Sexiest Man Alive

Actor Johnny Depp has been named this year's "Sexiest Man Alive" by PEOPLE. Depp nudged aside Hugh Jackman to get the coveted title on Wednesday. It's the 46-year-old actor's second time winning -- he also won in 2003. Kate Coyne, senior editor at PEOPLE, said on CBS' 'Early Show' that Depp has achieved an almost "iconic status in terms of sexiness."

"Johnny Depp was someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He'll be sexy 10 years from now. He's someone who appeals to multiple generations of women," Coyne said.

Depp is most known for his portrayals of offbeat, eccentric characters such as Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film franchise, Raoul Duke in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,' and Sam in 'Benny & Joon.' He has also starred on the television series '21 Jump Street' and films like 'Edward Scissorhands,' 'Sleepy Hollow,' and 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.'

Depp joins other double winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere.

I think it's awesome that Johnny got the title for the second time. He gets better w/age. I also feel that Ewan McGregor should be sexiest man alive too. Ewan doesnt try to be hot, which makes him even more appealing. Gerard Butler, definitely needs to be on that list, as well as Alexander Skarsgard. Alex was voted sexiest man in Sweden, 5 yrs in a row, that should count for something.
