John Kerry's Daughter Charged with DUI

Alexandra Forbes Kerry, daughter of senator and former presidential candidate John Kerry, has been arrested under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, TMZ reports. Kerry, 36, was pulled over for a traffic stop just before 1 a.m. The film producer and director was arrested and booked in Hollywood, and released by 5:30 that morning.

Police told TMZ that Kerry was pulled over for violating a traffic law, and when officers conducted a field sobriety test, Kerry appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant. Reportedly, the cops asked her to take a preliminary alcohol screening test in the field, but she refused.

Police conducted a formal blood alcohol test after Kerry was arrested. The test showed a level of .06. The legal limit in California is .08, but a driver can still be prosecuted if the vehicle is being operated unsafely due to alcohol.
