Martha Stewart Disses Rachael Ray's Cooking

When it comes to cooking, Martha Stewart says Rachael Ray doesn't hold a candle to her.

In an interview with ABC's Cynthia McFadden, Stewart criticizes Ray's abilities, saying that she is "not good enough for me," The New York Daily News reports.

"She's more of an entertainer than she is, with her bubbly personality, than she is a teacher, like me. That's not what she's professing to be," Stewart explains in the 'Nightline' segment.

But Ray isn't upset with Stewart's remarks.

"Why would it make me mad? Her skill set is far beyond mine. That's simply the reality of it. That doesn't mean what I do isn't important, too ... I don't consider it needling. I really just think she's being honest," she tells ABC.

Referring to their food, Ray adds, "I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

I couldn't agree with you more. I am looking at one of Martha's cookbooks and one of Rachel's (a gift from someone who didn't know better) and it is clear that even though Martha did not receive classic training, her experience has given her skills light years beyond Rachel Rae.

I guess most people just don't know any better.

Martha is a stuffy has been. I've never found a recipe in her magazine that I wanted to make. Her hoity-toity kind went the way of the buffalo hunters. People who eat her kind of fare have a cook-chef to prepare the stuff. Rachel Ray is REAL. Martha is phony.

It's Martha's opinion - and, well... you know the rest of that statement... however..... Rachael does so many good and kind things for others - both animal and human recipients that I would love her even if she served a poop sandwich.... so there you have it.... God love Rachael Ray and her giving spirit... and VERY obvious class....

Rachael takes the high road and good for her, my wife watchs her show on a regular basis. The food she cooks has often ended up on my plate and its good. Martha? whats wrong with you? get that silver spoon out of your arse and the prison boot out of your mouth, buying everything in life like you have does not make it better, actually just the opposite.Why do you think only 7 people watched your show last month.

Disappointed with Ray's response! She prides herself on being a Bosox Fan then she basically throws the towel in on Stewart. Where is her Fenway ego? Beyond that she claims that she was raised in an Italian household. There are no Italian women I know that would let someone tell them they are better cooks. The kitchen is their domain. Rest assure the Redsox Nation is sadden by Ray's approach to Stewart. She allowed herself to be taken down for the count.

Rachael cooks everyday food while martha cooks snobish food. I will love to see martha in the kitchen of iron chef - a feast that rachael did with batali and won. Martha can say anything she wants because is the only way she can get publicity something that rachael does not need. Martha needs another time behinds bar and maybe she will learn respect.

I do not Like Martha I have never liked her she can not speak like a professional. Tried watching her show like Donald Trump has could take it. But I do not watch Rachael either because she is annoying but if I had to chose I would watch Rachael.

Rachel didn't go to culinary school but her recipes are edible. Martha Stewart's food looks pretty but I don't think her recipes are better than Rachel Ray's for every day type meals.

There's no question Martha Stewart is an outstanding professional chef. Sadly, she is not a very nice person.

I'm not a fan of Rachel Ray's cooking tips, but her response to Martha certainly increases my respect and admiration for her character exponentially!

I think she has a right to voice her opinion BUT the bottom line is, we the people, will decide who's cooking we like to eat. I myself,have used recipes from both. Martha of course is more involved,more work usually where as with Rachel you can make pretty quick meals that DO taste fine!They are both fine cooks in their domain.
