Martha Stewart Disses Rachael Ray's Cooking

When it comes to cooking, Martha Stewart says Rachael Ray doesn't hold a candle to her.

In an interview with ABC's Cynthia McFadden, Stewart criticizes Ray's abilities, saying that she is "not good enough for me," The New York Daily News reports.

"She's more of an entertainer than she is, with her bubbly personality, than she is a teacher, like me. That's not what she's professing to be," Stewart explains in the 'Nightline' segment.

But Ray isn't upset with Stewart's remarks.

"Why would it make me mad? Her skill set is far beyond mine. That's simply the reality of it. That doesn't mean what I do isn't important, too ... I don't consider it needling. I really just think she's being honest," she tells ABC.

Referring to their food, Ray adds, "I'd rather eat Martha's than mine, too."

Martha is the rudest most self centered Jailbird I know. How can she have the gall to criticize anyone after the stunt she just pulled. She is a very jealous and bitter person. On an interview I recently heard her do she was putting Sarah Palin down in a very vindictive manner. She called her boring, dangerous and confused and said she wouldn't watch her if they paid her. I don't know how she figured out how to describe her if she wouldn't watch her. Martha said she thinks you should give back to your country with your service, your money or guidance!!!!!!! She didn't mention by secretively being informed that the stock market was going to crash so she could take out all of her money while people like us lost ours. She also didn't mention by letting us support her while she spends time in jail. What a classy way Rachel Ray responded to Martha's very, very, stupid remarks. I wonder if Martha or the media thinks anyone really cares nor respects anything she says. Now if she wants to talk about some of the stories her jailbird friends told her, that might be interesting. (If they ever talked to her) Some that were interviewed said she was a snob, which we already knew that. By the way, I saw the arrogant interview I spoke of on Charter news this morning, in case anyone wants to hear it.

Martha's cooking is finicky and largely impractical for most folks. Some of her advice is wrong ("I never let aluminum foil touch my food - it causes Alzheimer's" [pure baloney, proven false many times]}. Rachel's cooking is practical, tastes good, and the show is entertaining and fun.

I love to cook and I have used a lot of Rachel's recipes. Even got one of her cookbooks for Christmas. Keep it up Rachel. I love 30 minute meals!

Martha has always thought that no one else is anywhere near as good as she is. I stopped watching Martha long before Rachael came along. Martha's ego is larger than her big mouth. Rachael has shown she has more class than Martha will ever have.

Hey Sam, Rachel wasn't throwing the towel in, she was just making Martha feel like the loser she is. On the football field she is tough, but in the kitchen she is a lady, unlike the rude snob Martha is. Martha thinks only of Martha. Her show is probably close to being canceled due to lack of interest of the viewers, who can't get passed all the money they spent on her support while she was in jail, while she had her money safe in the bank and Rachel's show is still a favorite.

I would love to have Martha spend hours whipping up a seven course meal for me to enjoy. And have her put on a little french maid outfit to serve it for Rachael and I to enjoy!

As a trained chef I have referenced Martha Stewart's recipes several times at home as well as the professional kitchen and more often than not they work well. I simply can't say the same about Rachael Ray's. I enjoy her show I think she's adorable, but she's just not the same caliber of cook as MS. I would never uses RR's recipes in the professional kitchen; I would never chance it. When you cook in volume like the pros do you can't trust her recipes because you can't risk wasting that much food if it doesn't work. I have given her recipes several chances making meals for my family at home and I can't think of one of these meals that was worth repeating and I believe my family would agree. They like my recipes better than RR or MS. Maybe RR's recipes work better for an untrained palate, but I don't trust her cooking, either. She's not a chef, and that's okay, but I like a solid recipe to build on, not one I have to tweak until it passes for edible.

When I am looking for a recipe I ask Martha not Rachel. When I need home advise, I ask Martha not Rachel. Rachel is good at the "limited" things she can do. And she is the first to admit that. Martha has been doing this for a long time and is a pro. I think the prison jokes about Martha is a bit much. She is a masterfull chelf and a brillant businesswoman. I love and respect Martha.

30 minute meals are great. I was a single parent for a long time,and I didn't have time to make the meals that Martha makes. I am sure they are good, but time is the problem.When you are a single parent or two parents that work. Rachaels meals work.The 1950s are gone.

If I want a dinner party with all kinds of froo froo food and an elegant guest list, I would call Martha. if I wanted to sit down and eat, I guess I'd call Rachel. I like them both for different reasons and I actually cook a little like both of them...I just dont have enough froo froo friends to impress to go through all the 17 steps to make sure my turkey is perfectly browned. Doesnt it say a lot about Rachel that she was so super and gracious about it...just makes you want to hug her. Martha...not so much.

I am 59 years old, been cooking since I was ten, and I am a better cook than BOTH Martha and Rachel!
I am not bragging. I'm NOT good at LOTS of things, I don't even drive a car, never had a license. I'm not good looking, lousy in bed (except for sleeping)and I sure ain't rich. BUT...I've caught Martha making several mistakes so she is NOT the queen in the kitchen...I AM!!! So many of my friends and relatives have asked me to make a cook book. Maybe I will, some day. First of all give credit where credit is due. I agree with Martha. why is giving your opinion and saying how you feel rude? Please! Here's another analogy , there is a big difference between a Registered Nurse and a Nurse's Aide, Helloo.
