Jon Gosselin Brings Roses to Successful Divorce Meeting

Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin could be about a month away from finalizing their divorce, after a successful day at the arbitration table in Pennsylvania on Saturday. According to TMZ, Jon won't fight Kate for primary custody of their eight kids and neither party is seeking spousal support. The two main issues still on the table are distribution of assets and child support.

The day began as many reality dating shows typically end: with roses. Jon showed up at court with a bouquet of long-stemmed red's for Kate -- a peace offering of sorts. However, she turned them down. His lawyer had a pop culture reference in hand when discussing the flowers.

"This has been called the real-life War of the Roses," Mark Heller told PEOPLE, referring to the 1989 movie about battling spouses, "and he brought that as a peace offering to break the ice and try to bring the war to an end."

The meeting between the 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' alums was so productive that a second day of talks, scheduled for Monday, has been canceled. The arbitrator is expected to rule in a month and Heller says "it's possible" the bruising divorce will be finalized by the end of the year.

More colorful talk from Heller: "Obviously before two warring parties can smoke the peace pipe, they have to sit down at a table and address the issues that brought them to the skirmish."

i agree jon is acting like a child but kate isn't exactly the saint she portrays to be either. both of them need to grow up & behave like adults & set some examples (if there are any left) for their kids. jon may have gone & acted like an ass in public kate sits on the set talking to the camera dissing him like its no tomorrow. someday her kids are going to see that & realize that not only did he treat her like crap but she wasn't any better by talking about him the way she is.

Kate is the 'jackass'. Take the flowers every time!You don't have to like the guy to enjoy the flowers. And yes, I do understand it was a 'peace offering'. So, don't accept the peace part of it!

Even if you have experience on this matter, everyone's story is different. When you are hurt so deeply you can not just forgive because the one who hurt you is ready to do so. When he was ready to cheat and go crazy and now he is ready to make-up so it is all what Jon wants (he is control?) oh NO! Why should she forgive him, and whose business is it whether she forgives him anyway? He has made a mockery of his marriage vows, created a destructive situation for his kids, spent family money on his skanks, and has tried to manipulate the situation by going on TV every other day to whine.
