It's actually quite sad. I was amazed by Adam's talent on American Idol. Now he's lowered himself to Britney's standard - equal to going out in public with a very short dress on and "forgetting" your undies. I wish Adam would let his talent speak for itself. I don't mind subtle gestures, but let your talent speak for itself.
you can say that Adam was out of control, but I feel that he was expressing himself to other entertainers.Women have been doing the same kind of exploytation he did. They use men slaves dressed in leather. But its ok when its a woman straight or gay. They can do it with another woman straight or gay and its ok. I'm a straight female and hes an entertainer.Doing what everybody else has all ready done.Maybe he wanted to see the reaction from the other side.
I am surprised at ABC for either not realizing just how far his performance went, and allowing it on prime time television. I only hope my grandchildren didn't see that. Can only imagine the "play acting" kids would think was appropriate after seeing that! Or the shock, as mine, that the producers couldn't or wouldn't be respectful of the viewing audience. Adam was great on AI, but they had boundaries.
That performance was a little over the top, but i still feel it had expression. All sex and sexy things aren't just for being sexy and getting money. I doubt he gained any popularity from an act such as this, but he went out there and showed everyone what he was made of, and that's who this man is; someone who shoves who he is into your face. If the performance wasn't family friendly, it is the networks fault as it is their responsibility to see to what gets aired, the AMAs obviously draw many viewers so it will be aired and there is no guarantee that the content will be clean at all seeing as it is associated with the popular media.
You let your 14 year-old daughter watch that vulgar display? It must have caught you offguard.I too enjoyed American Idol, and I am a little older than you,but from the first time I saw Adam Lambert,I thought he was really hiding his true self, and after seeing that awful display,I am SO glad Kris Allen won. Actually,I was voting for Danny Gokey. Adam Lambert may get the airtime, but as far as character, Kris and Danny have nothing to worry about.
I agree. I thought he had amazing talent on
AI and was looking forward to future performances. I even stayed up late to watch because I wanted to see him perform. It was vulgar and disturbing that this was allowed to be seen on TV. He has lost a fan.
What talent, but sadly misused. After hearing his
voice, I was so impressed, in fact couldn't get some
of his melodies out of my head! I was hoping for the best for him, but now I'm thinking he's a devil's
advocate.
AMEN
Kevin,
You said exactly what I was thinking. I'm gay, and I was offended. It had nothing to do with sexuality, I wouldn't want to see a male and a female doing that on stage either. Disgusting. Liked him on AI, but got sick of his screaming. My partner and I just looked at each other during the performance. We were in shock! We changed to Sunday Night Football. Thanks for speaking up, I know there are a lot more people that agree with you!
Tammy
I agree with you!! What he did was disgusting. It would have been disgusting if he had pushed a woman's head into his groin, but to do it with a man was way over the top.
Homo's are exhibitionists anyway. They would do it in the road if they could. The parks in this town at one time were littered with men in the bushes having sex around children. They only way they were able to stop it was to start having camera crews wait for them and put them on TV.
I agree 100% with you....too bad a potentially great new talent had to throw it away. It will take a long, long time (if ever) for him to regain the public's respect.
It is not a matter of whether he is gay or not. The moves that he preformed were vulgar.
He need to use "SHOCK" and SEX to show his talent, know "why"?? He has no natural talent, that's why !!
He's pathetic ! The female dancer is just as bad for allowing herself to be used like that....
I am a senior (almost 70). I watched Adam on AI and thought he was talented despite the fact that he is gay. His performance the other night was lewd and horrible. I am not saying I will never listen to him again. I still think he has talent, he just needs to use it with thought for his audiences. If he wants to "Be Adam" then let him do it on videos and not on prime time TV.
The problem with Adam's performance wasn't so much what he did, it was when. This was an award show, and right before Taylor Swift won-and she's singing to the teen population, so they were watching. It was inappropiate because of that. Was this why they made him the last performer, or does American Idol have clout over when they perform on other networks too???
I totally agree with you and all the others who were disgusted by this. I to WAS a fan but not anymore. I believe it proves that Lambert has issues with his natural talent as a singer/entertainer and thinks he needs to shock people to get attention or be noticed. To me the entire show was mostly disgusting with each girl act trying to out gross the one before and be even more sleazier (sp)...not talking about C Underwood (although it looked like she was wearing a diaper) or T Swift. I'm talking about the older girls hunching and acting like female dogs in heat. I won't be watching next time..heaven knows what that will be like. Protect your daughter. Mine is 29 and agrees with me. Maybe we can turn things around. BTW, I'm 50ish and not a prude. Totally agree with you...have a nice turkey day!
KEVIN..........VERY WELL PUT. THANK GOD FOR PARENTS LIKE YOU WHO STILL INSTILL VALUES IN THEIR CHILDREN. BUT ALOT OF IT GOES BACK TO MY GENERATION.(56) WHEN THEY SAID "IF IT FEELS GOOD DO I" I KNEW THINGS WOULD ONLY GO DOWN HILL FROM THERE. LETS BRING VALUES BACK AND STOP SUPPORTING THESE NUTS
Adam did what he wanted to do and that is offer a buffet of gayness backed by opera vocals and set to second-rate pop music. It was disgusting to say the least and the crowd didn't bite. Lets hope this is as much the end as it is the beginning for the sake of the industry, image and David Bowie.

I FULLY AGREE. IT WAS PATHETICALLY DISGUSTING. LIKE IF YOU'RE GAY... OK NO BIG DEAL BUT ITS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT THE MUSIC NOT ABOUT HOW GAY YOU CAN BE ON STAGE.. THAT WAS THE SADDEST PERFORMANCE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. IT WAS EVEN WORSE THAN THE JENNIFER LOPISS PERFORMANCE WITH HER FALLING ON HER FAKE SILICONE ASS.
Adam did no worse than Janet Jackson, She was grabbing her dancers crotch way before Adam was on.
