The Age Old Question: When Should Stars Stop Partying?
Steven Tyler's
Aerosmith bandmates are worried about the frontman's erratic behavior.
"He's got some bad influences in his life right now and he's making poor choices," drummer Joey Kramer
told People. Aerosmith guitarist
Brad Whitford added, "His behavior is spinning out of control."
How do you tell a 61-year-old man to grow up? Tyler's condition isn't really anything new. The music world and Hollywood are full of aging lads who don't know when to take off the party pants. PopEater takes a look at a generation of celebs who should let the party bus leave the station without them.
David Hasselhoff
The Hoff, 57, loves his liquor. His daughter caught him shirtless, chowing down on a hamburger and drunk as a skunk in 2007. It would have been just another night for the Hasselhoffs except that the tape made its way to the Internet.
David Hasselhoff admitted a relapse and said he was working on his recovery but Hoff was reportedly tipsy again at the
MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin earlier this month, grabbing onto a wall for support and slurring his words onstage as he presented the Best Rock Award to
Green Day.
Keith Richards
Rolling Stone Keith Richards, 65, reportedly got so drunk on the set of "
Pirates of the Caribbean" in 2006 that the director had to prop him up. "If you wanted straight, then you got the wrong man," Richards said. Earlier that year Richards experienced a concussion after falling from a palm tree in Fiji.
Mel Gibson
Since
Mel Gibson, 53, went on his drunken anti-Semitic tirade when he was pulled over for driving while intoxicated in 2006, he has managed to keep his party in his pants. But every once in awhile Mel hits the gossip pages for having one too many at Nobu in Malibu. Thankfully he has stayed away from the wheel.
Kiefer Sutherland
Jack Bauer allegedly racked up a $700 bar tab with the "24" crew in San Pedro, CA earlier this month, before 1pm! But that's nothing compared to when
Kiefer Sutherland, 42, ties one on with his band, in sessions that have included break-dancing and head-butting and one instance of one-on-one combat with a Christmas tree.
Nick Nolte
Nick Nolte, 68, has one of the most famous celebrity drunk driving mug shots of all time, probably because he looks like a cross between a hobo and the Big Kahuna. Nolte may not party more than the rest of us but unfortunately has always seems to get stuck talking to reporter-folk after he's had a few too many beverages.

Oh let them party. You are never to old to have good time. So leave them alone. They are not hurting anyone but themselves.

I agree. It's their lives. Let them live it. Why are we so intent on sticking an age barrier on everyone? If you want to party then I say party. If you don't then don't.
An interesting situation: While these celebrities are ROLE MODELS they should also be able to do what they want to HOWEVER IF they are involved in FELONY CONDUCT then EXTREME SANCTIONS SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE PUT ON THEM!!! No, I don't mean anything that involves a big time lawyer getting them off for whatever reason (like running into "therapy" or other crap), I mean that they should pay the price by their contracts being restrictive and/or dropped!
As long as their conduct is LEGITIMATE, WITH LEGITIMATE PARTICIPANTS, then "party on dude", otherwise PAY THE PRICE -- they are BIG TIME, SO SHOULD THEIR PENALTYS.
WHEN I TURNED 60 THE FRONT PORTION OF MY BRAIN TOLD ME ; "REMEMBER WHEN I TOLD YOU CAN HAVE ALL YOU CAN DRINK...WELL, THAT'S ALL YOU CAN DRINK."..HAVEN'T HAD A DROP IN 2 YEARS.....

By the time you are 30 to 35 you look pretty stupid out there partying with the 21+ crowd. You might look good physically but you still look like a moron trying to bust a move.

As Jay-Z said in a recent interview, "Fame is such a deadly drug that you can't see the changes because you are consumed by it. You need a close-knit group of friends and family to make sure you stay grounded." Some people just can't accept the REALITY OF CHANGE and would rather run from it than deal with it. There's nothing wrong with "having a good time" as long as you're not using it as a means to escape whatever you don't want to deal with. We all need to "relax and let our hair down" sometimes.

I think if they've managed to make it this far by living this way, what would happen to their bodies if they quit? Nico was a junkie for most of her life, and once she became sober, went for a bike ride one day and dropped dead...Even her son said it was sobriety that killed her.
Besides, it's better to burn out, than it is to rust...

The author is obviously young and stupid to even worry about what other people are doing. Perhaps a little too jealous because poor 'ol Jo is just average.

THIS KIND OF STORY IS WHAT WE ALL NEED WORRY ABOUT. Because NO ONE EVER TOLD US WE WOULD BE OLD SOMEDAY AND PEOPLE WILL ONLY CARE IF WE ARE LOOKING STUPID.
Well what about looking stupid with all the DISEASES that are going to kick our asses from now to yonder.I'm so sick of the NEWS MEDIA raking these Stars and Celeb's over the COALS why don't they devote their time to something like LOST CHILDREN and CANCER research and THE THINGS THAT THEY TOO WILL NEED WHEN THEY FINALLY REACH THE AGE WHERE PEOPLE WILL START TO WONDER WHAT THEY ARE THINKING TOO? ALL THESE DRUNKS DIDN'T GET THERE BY THEMSELVES, THE WHOLE WORLD HELPED: REMEMBER THAT YOU LITTLE MONEY MAKING HIPPOCRITS.

Hey, why not? At least Keith Richards has a marvelous, self deprecating sense of humor about his partying ways! He's hilarious and doesn't take a thing seriously, which has also led to a lot of grinning speculation about how much of his bad boy reputation is based on FACT, very much like his movie "son", Captain Jack Sparrow!
Party on, Keith!

I plan to put these pictures on my kids' walls and every night go in and say "See, THIS is why you shouldn't drink or use drugs."
