Britney, Madonna, and Xtina's kisses were on the MTV Music Awards.. not giving them an excuse, but it's more expected on a channel like that. There was backlash for that too. Britney didn't perform on the AMA's like that (unless I'm mistaken) .. on ABC for any family to be watching together. I don't want to hear how "it was too late for kids to be up anyway.." Maybe the kids were up because they don't have school this week for Thanksgiving, or because their parents were allowing it for this one time, so they could see their favorite American Idol perform for the first time since AI.
I think it was HORRIBLE. Bad singing, bad song, bad performance.

I just listened to his album - overdubbed technopop and then this performance! How disappointing! I thought with Adam we'd get something new and instead we get a Boy George re-run crossed with Madonna's 80s act.

Thank god..this is exactly what I was thinking...there have been so many performers that are much more pervertive and crase than Adam was and is. Madonna is an american icon and look how she performs...totally accepted!! Adam you are amazing!! You are truly a great artist..keep doing what you are doing...I am your number 1 fan!!

NO - actually it is NOT a double standard. I would not have cared if Adam kissed another guy -- who cares? It has nothing to do with being gay -- I support gay people and their rights. However, NOBODY should grab another person's crotch or shove someone's face in their crotch on a family show. (STRAIGHT OR GAY) Other people who have done it(tho I cannot think of any who have) have gotten flack for it. Save it for the concerts -- not a family channel. I agree. There was very little about the show I liked. I only watched it to see Adam, and then was disgusted and disappointed. His talent has taken a back seat to his desire to flaunt shocking sexuality. I like many of the singers that were on AMA show, but not that night.
Such a shame. I was wild about Adam's Idol performances. I feel like I owe Kris Allen an apology for saying he shouldnt have won!

I agree but Daughtry and Keith Urban were great and respected..so don't say everyone was bad,and Alicia Keys was good..alone...other than that it was bad and how did Michael Jackson get an award with no songs in many years.........it was awful...there were other deserving people...

OMG it is almost 2010 and people still have that way of thinking like its the 90's....i guess people never grow and accept that we live in a total different society and world now. I applaud him for his performance....i don't see no difference Adam Lambert expressing himself today, as David Bowie and PRINCE and Madonna did back then......oh well he lost fans, and gain fans at the same time. It's so sad, he has so much talent and to stoop this low really cheapens him and the whole AMA. I think he thinks he has to shock people for some kind of negative attention. So sad, I'm praying for him.

I heard that he will be on CBS instead. I think they are wrong and I hope that people will let them know that the majority of decent people do not condone his actions.
