Roman Polanski Wins Bail, But Stays in Swiss Jail

Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski was granted bail by a Swiss court on Wednesday, agreeing to pay $4.5 million that will allow him to be kept on house arrest as he awaits trial and possible extradition for his statutory rape charges stemming from 1977. Still, the Swiss government has 10 days to decide whether they will appeal the bail.
