Adam Lambert On His Best Behavior for David Letterman: Video

Adam Lambert chose to close out his scandal-filled week with a subdued performance on 'Late Show with David Letterman.' The singer, who came under fire for his sexed-up performance at this week's AMAs, stripped down the sound on 'What Do You Want From Me.'

There was no kissing, no crotch grabbing, just Adam Lambert doing what he did best on last season of 'American Idol' ... raising the roof with his voice. Watch the performance:

Following the AMAs, Lambert told PopEater "If you are in the public eye and you are a certain type of persona, you're putting certain ideas out there you're bound to have people look up to them. You're also bound to have people who completely reject them and hate you for it. I could be somebody's role model, but on the flip side I could be somebody's worst nightmare at the same time. Adam's fans love him the way he is and don't want him to change. Keep doing what your doing Adam! I am 41 a mom of six and love the fact that you are yourself. The AMA's needed Adam to liven up the otherwise boring program. Adams your fans will never desert you, keep it real.

This has not one thing to do with Lambert being gay [ As he is saying ] its about how he did his
show on the stage .
It was very gross and very dis respect for others .
I dont think he even has any respect
. yes I know its a show but there is a time and place for everything . if he was having his own show then what he did would he ok but it was not .
and therefor he needed to tone it and at lest say he was sorry and it got out of hand .
but know he did not do this.
in his mind its all about hem .

Everyone needs to get past something that happened over a week ago. LISTEN to his CD.......it is fantastic! No matter what you think, the man can SING! There is a different style of song with every track. I would listen to him sing a phone book! Yes he's theatrical, yes he got carried away, but yes, I think he realizes it. What's done is done, can't erase it...but we can all get past it.
Do yourselves a favor.......listen to the music!!!
