Paula Abdul Gets Her Pooches Painted

It's been so long since Paula Abdul left the 'American Idol' scene and the daily news cycle, and with no Paula fix on the way (as of now, at least), aren't we all a little curious how the always-interesting judge/musician is doing? So, when word hit that Abdul made her presence known at the American Music Awards Luxury Lounge, Popeater's ears perked up. After the jump, check out five absolutely alluring Abdul facts we learned about Paula from people at the event, including how she's slimmed down quite a bit and how her puppies are well manicured.

1. She's laughing at those media reports that she's dating old flame Arsenio Hall. She squashed that rumor during her walk through the lounge, "That's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard," she was heard saying, adding that she's "too busy for a boyfriend."

2. She seems to have a very interesting man-friend. When she stopped at the Simmons Jewelry Co, Abdul was given the option of picking out men's or women's jewelry from the extremely popular line (Eminem wore his selection on stage during the AMAs). "Paula was told she could take women's but she insisted on taking men's. And then she went silent about who the men's jewelry were going to. She just wouldn't say. She was very secretive about it," we hear. And then she refused to have her picture taken near the booth.

3. Her dogs get pedicures. Really. Look at the picture! Abdul came color coordinated with her dogs Thumbelina and Bessie Moon -- it was hard to miss that the dogs and Paula had hot pink toe nails and matching fur vests. Maybe canine toe-painting is what's sucking up all of her time. She was very affectionate with her "babies" carrying Thumbelina about as Bessie Moon was carried by an assistant.

4. She looks really skinny but ate big. "She was thin enough that people were commenting," our source says. "Super skinny." That said, she was talking all about chili fries during the event, and when she was presented with a sample chocolate shake from Johnny Rockets -- "she sent it back," says our spy. "And ordered a great big sized shake...with whipped cream."

5. She's still giving Simon Cowell grief in 'Idol' absentia. When Abdul picked up a Nokia Twist, which comes with a mirror attached, she exclaimed, "I have to get Simon one -- he needs this!"

When is the media going to figure out that her interesting man-friend is Simon? How hard is THAT to figure out? Ryan Seacrest ANNOUNCED it on American Idol in March plus teased them about it every chance he got. Yes, they stay under the radar very well but all their fans figured it out over a year ago. I guess the media needs PICTURES.

Paula Is really thin!! So hearing that she is eating is putting me at ease a little, since I've been so worried about her! LOL about the secret man. Isnt it obvious?! Its for Simon, duhh. and she didnt want pics because its going to be a surprise for him =]

Oh and her dog is Bessie Moo not moon... wow lol

Oh, good, glad to hear Paula Abdul is "painting her pooches" when people are out of work and others are going without. Always amusing to hear what the Hollywood elite with money to burn are doing....I guess she cares not at all about her fellow man....
