Harsh Online Comments Dogging Gabourey Sidibe

Oscar buzz may be swarming around 'Precious' star Gabourey Sidibe, but the new-found star is boycotting the internet after finding hurtful comments about her size online.

The actress was plucked from obscurity to star as troubled teen Precious in the highly-acclaimed movie, which follows an overweight pregnant teen girl trying to make it in Harlem.

New York native Gabourey is enjoying the exposure her sudden fame has afforded her - but she insists there are negative side effects.

The star tells Interview magazine, "I try to stay off the internet, just because people hurt my feelings sometimes. My audition tape ended up on YouTube, and, like 40,000 people have seen it, and a lot of people have commented that I'm an incredible actress. But other opinions weren't so nice, physically or whatever."

Gabourey attended The MOMA Film Benefit: A Tribute To Tim Burton at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City on November 17, and looked adorable in a purple gown. Photos posted at JustJared received several harsh comments, including the ones below:

"plz lose like 400 pounds b4 u die of a heart attack. oh n also get sum powter 4 that greazy face."

"Barney called, he wants his. . . oh, you get the picture. Hahaha!!!"

"I realise a party isn't a party unless it has "pigs in a blanket" but this is overdoing it a bit."

We think this is beyond low - what do you think?

Unbelievable. It's amazing how far people need to go just to get a freaking ego boost. What they don't love themselves just the way they are so they gotta put other's down? These people have the IQ of a dish rag, holy crap.

I say, love yourself just the way you are and screw other's who have a problem with you. They don't know you and have no right to judge you like this.

I'm a big girl battling with haters myself but I know they're doing more harm to themselves than they are to me.

Well, fact: She's good actress, got a gift for that. She's way overweight on standard vs height. She's so ugly people have no guilt feelings bashing her relentlessly on youtube. Live with the fact, Gabourey Sidibe. If you really are scared of reading on internet, then maybe your will needs a coat of 'Monique attitude' to be tougher facing your own demon (unless you're really happy with how you look right now). I can care less about people bashing people, cuz most of them have no lives themselves. However, I also care less about people saying how 'cute' 'beautiful' Gabourey Sidibe is, because they are all LIARS. You don't say someone's beautiful if you'll never try to hook her up with your brother, buddy, father, son, or your lesbian daughter.
