Jailed 'Pulp' Writer Busted for Tweeting

'Pulp Fiction' writer Roger Avary was being his normal, wordy self by updating his Twitter account while on a work furlough program thanks to his fatal DUI accident that landed him in jail last year. Aside from the fact that Tweeting from jail (referring to himself as "#34") simply isn't allowed, it turns out that the higher-ups in the correctional department didn't even know Avary was in the work program, and thanks to his Tweets, he's now back in full-time custody. He even Tweeted about his newfound status:
The Los Angeles Times
broke the news last week that Avary -- or at least someone pretending to be Avary -- was using Twitter and sending updates of daily life in jail. After the initial article, it was
L.A. Now who reported that Avary had been busted and taken off of his work furlough detail.
Want some of the tidbits of knowledge dispensed by Avary in jail? Here's a few:
Nov. 24: "#34's new roomie, EZ, takes Yeyo's old bunk, locker, AND number. He regales awesome tales about his former life as an Oxnard gangbanger."
Nov. 21: "A ball of Heroin tar is found on an inmate. The guards react lightning-fast, locking down the facility and "rolling up" those responsible."
Nov. 7: "They're putting Saltpeter in the food," one inmate tells #34, "to shrink our d---s and kill our sex drive...don't eat the soy meat." Okay."
Avary plead guilty to vehicular manslaughter charges last September, and was sentenced to a year in jail for his role in an accident that killed a passenger and seriously injured his wife.

Twitter is stupid. People who use Twitter and have the need to tell everyone everything they do are stupid. It's this ridiculous new reality show mentality where everyone wants "fame". Who cares what everyone else does, what they did in the toilet, etc? Get lives!!

Why do all of these twits think that their lives are so interesting? As for the guy who's twittering from jail, I hope he never gets out. He killed someone in a DUI for crying out loud! ONLY TWITS TWITTER.

Yeah, a fatal DUI sure is funny. Glad he can see the humor in it, I bet the family of the person he KILLED doesn't think it so funny. And all he got was a year in jail????? Jerk.
