Adam Lambert Says He Acts the Way He Does Because He Used to Be Fat

Adam Lambert's crazy pants American Music Awards appearance all makes a little more sense to us after hearing his interview with the Morning Jolt's Larry Flick on Sirius radio, where Lambert admits he suffered from an ugly duckling complex because he used to be quite the fatty.

"I suffered from a little bit of an ugly duckling complex in my early twenties. When I was in high school I was 250 pounds and that creates some stuff...some body image stuff, some confidence issues and I got a lot of my confidence from the validation I got as a performer," Lambert said. "It's common for kids who were made fun of for their weight to act out in that way. When you are developing your identity during those important years your self image and physical appearance are who you are," explains psychologist Cooper Lawrence, author of "The Cult of Celebrity." "Until you develop a life, a resume and a sense of who you are inside and you are criticized for weight it can have a long lasting impact. The AMAs were the perfect 'look at me now' moment. He not only looks amazing but he is so comfortable with who he is and it shows."

It is all coming together. Lambert used to be a chubby and now that he is much more svelte and sexy he wants to flaunt it as best he can, even if flaunting it means smooching his male guitarist and simulating oral sex onstage. We just bought some new skinny jeans when we managed to shed those hard to lose pounds, but hey, to each his own.

Since most people AREN'T gay, I highly dought that Adam's male/male kiss and oral simulation sceen will EVER be repeated by your children.

Wow danny you just got dissed by dena. You actually thought you knew what you are talking about. I don't think people are disappointed as much in the gay part they are more disappointed in the vulgar part. I know lots of gay people and they find this crap distasteful. It's not a gay thing its a this is on national television thing and a guy is throwing around a bondage scene and there are kids watching. This is was not the venue for him to be doing this. If it was one of his own concerts not televised, then cool he can do all the bondage so called art that he wants.

I was disgusted by this, and I have two gay friends, one who is involved with a partner at the moment. Adam kissing his guitarist and the blowjob thing was out there, but what makes me irritated is the fact that he is saying that people are being homophobic if they are agaisnt that being done. If this was a concert, I would not give a damn; know why? Cause it is a CONCERT. This, however, was different.
The man may be the nicest person on earth, but what he did is still wrong.
