Adam Lambert Says He Acts the Way He Does Because He Used to Be Fat

Adam Lambert's crazy pants American Music Awards appearance all makes a little more sense to us after hearing his interview with the Morning Jolt's Larry Flick on Sirius radio, where Lambert admits he suffered from an ugly duckling complex because he used to be quite the fatty.

"I suffered from a little bit of an ugly duckling complex in my early twenties. When I was in high school I was 250 pounds and that creates some stuff...some body image stuff, some confidence issues and I got a lot of my confidence from the validation I got as a performer," Lambert said. "It's common for kids who were made fun of for their weight to act out in that way. When you are developing your identity during those important years your self image and physical appearance are who you are," explains psychologist Cooper Lawrence, author of "The Cult of Celebrity." "Until you develop a life, a resume and a sense of who you are inside and you are criticized for weight it can have a long lasting impact. The AMAs were the perfect 'look at me now' moment. He not only looks amazing but he is so comfortable with who he is and it shows."

It is all coming together. Lambert used to be a chubby and now that he is much more svelte and sexy he wants to flaunt it as best he can, even if flaunting it means smooching his male guitarist and simulating oral sex onstage. We just bought some new skinny jeans when we managed to shed those hard to lose pounds, but hey, to each his own.

Like Tiger Woods, hopefully Adam's Faux Pas on TV will blow away and we can just hear his talented beautiful voice. Some of these bloggers need to get a life!

I used to be overweight too but, now that I have lost the weight, you don't see me running around in public shoving people's faces into my crotch or "deep throating" people on National TV. This kid is "full of it". He needs to grow up.

You know what? He has you talking about him, so that makes him a star already. He is an excellent singer to those who like him.. If you prefer listening to fingernails screeching on a blacboard that just shows what type of music you like. I feel sad for you.

His fans may think he's a star but just because someone is a huge fameHO doesn't make them a star.

News flash! Adam didn't lose the fat as much as it migrated up between his ears. It is called chronic upward migratic cererbro lipiditis. It doesn't take talent to shove someone's face into your crotch. All it takes is a lack of class and respect for the audience or other performers. Adam is done.

Why does the media take everything out of context to hype things up? I saw/heard the entire interview, and you like to make headlines with trash and twisting the truth. Adam fans are sick and tired of it. Adam is a great and talented guy, so stop using him to get hype for your media outlets. I guess we should expect this since Adam is a superstar. Look how the media has crucified so many others.

Ah. So now it is a conspiracy theory that the LIVE FOOTAGE from the awards did.
The dude can be the best singer, but the fact is that this was not a private venue of his, it was a prime time event. I listen to Rammstein, so if anyone on this forum knows who they are and have seen some of their concert footage, it is pretty clear I don't give a damn how screwed up the song/and or performance is: IF IT IS THE BAND'S CONCERT.
