Britney Spears 'Happy' But Not Engaged

Reports that Britney Spears' agent-boyfriend Jason Trawick left the country after rejecting her wedding proposal are "100 percent absolutely false," a source close to the couple tells PEOPLE. "There was no proposal and they were never engaged." When Trawick headed back to L.A. instead of spending the holidays with Spears, buzz surrounding the couple's relationship went into high gear. But there is nothing to worry about. "Jason spent more time in Australia than originally planned," says the source. "They are very happy."

Over the weekend, OK! Magazine released its new cover story, claiming that Spears was engaged. "Britney said she does not have a doubt in her mind that she wants to spend the rest of her life with Jason," a source close to the couple told OK!. "She has already discussed marriage with him, and they are both excited about a romantic wedding."

OK! also claimed "all it took was her boys' blessing to convince her to move ahead with plans for her third wedding in five years."

But it looks like the wedding bells aren't ringing yet.

The engagement has been speculated about for some time. Back in August the Huffington Post reported that the pop star showed up at the Teen Choice Awards wearing a diamond ring.

Engaged or not, he has Lynn Spears' approval. She told US Weekly, "He's the kind of man you would dream of your daughter marrying. The kids love him, and he's stable."

AOL, why do you allow such a slop jar of pictures on one subject and most of then are repeats or just one snap after the other. Sort them out and cut down on the number of shots.

I think that Britney Spears DESERVES some happiness! I just hope that THIS man loves Britney for herself. I know that she had some issues, but I think that K-Fed would have driven anyone nuts. Britney has so much to offer: She's talented; gorgeous; and rich. Did she have some growing up to do? Yes. But I think it was very difficult having to do this in the public. It made me SICK how everyone turned against her when she was going through her divorce. I think it just goes to show that there are so many people who would rather tear good people down than to see them succeed. I would feel a lot better about this relationship though if her boyfriend didn't stand to gain anything. I just hope that he isn't "babysitting" her while she gets her life together. She deserves more than that!

Can we PLEASE keep this woman out of the spotlight? Go have a life and raise your children dear, and stop imposing yourself on the rest of us. Pretty blonds are a dime a dozen, and your voice sounds like fingernails on a chalkboard. No star power. Move on.

I do not think Britney has a boy friend. She may think she has a boy friend. But she is deluding herself. She should let her manager be her manager be her manager and she should find a boy friend. But I do not think her manger is that good a manager. He arranged a tour for hair where she would lip Sync. What kind of manager would encourage his client for that kind of performance. I'd encourage her to find a new manager who can also be her manager.

britney's dad is the permanent conservator of her estate, finances, basically everything. Legally she cannot vote and yes, she's not even legally allowed to get married....so there's no point in getting engaged. take that crap at face value.
