Meryl Streep Doesn't Like Having Her Picture Taken

If Meryl Streep is in a movie, she's almost bound to get an Oscar nomination. But surprisingly, the most talented actress of her generation doesn't enjoy being photographed.

"I hate to have my picture taken," the Oscar-winner tells Vanity Fair.

Streep also talks to the magazine about being a working actress at her age, the financial success of 'Mamma Mia' and life in general. More Inside

There are parts for women her age: "It's incredible -- I'm 60, and I'm playing the romantic lead in romantic comedies!"

On the female audience for 'Mamma Mia,' which made over $500M worldwide: "It's so gratifying because it's the audience that nobody really gives a sh-t about."

Her life: "I'm very f------ grateful to be alive. I have so many friends who are sick or gone, and I'm here. Are you kidding? No complaints!"

i like meryl streep. she was good in the movie DOUBT. If you never saw it, watch it ..good movie. My favorite was when she played in the 80's movie She-Devil with Roseanne Barr. That was a funny movie.

I've always thought that Meryl Streep was a very good actress. But a lot of her appeal was that not only dad she possess great acting ability, but she also had an aura of perceived class that was a step-above most other actresses.

I was disappointed to read her words, "the audience that nobody gives a sh*t about" and "I'm very f**cking grateful to be alive".

She did a lot to shatter that perception of grace and class with those words. Many other great actresses would have been able to convey the same thoughts in an interview without stooping to the words that she chose.

Yeah, probably because the picture was taken back around 1978 or 79. It's not a recent picture of course.
