We keep forgetting. Was that "Wax on"? Or "Wax off"? Either way, Jaden Smith, son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, will enter Hollywood lore as the lead in the 'The Karate Kid' sequel reports People. "I trained every day for four months with Master Wu [the film's fight coordinator]," Jaden explained. He portrays Dre Parker, an American boy who moves to China and learns to stand up to a bully with the help of an eccentric mentor played by martial artist Jackie Chan.
"Jackie taught me to ask, 'My left or camera left? That helped,'" said Jaden, explaining some of the knowledge Chan shared with him over the course of the shoot. Location filming in Beijing was highlighted by scenes shot on top of the Great Wall of China.
Although Jaden learned much about the film business, karate's lessons of obedience, respect and discipline did not stop there.
"His dad told me that Jaden had changed," Chan revealed. "When he takes his shoes off, he doesn't throw them in the corner, but puts them away neatly!"
Jaden Smith, 11, is the son of Hollywood superstar Will 'Fresh Prince' Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. Jaden is best known for his role as Christopher opposite his dad in the uplifting tale 'The Pursuit of Happyness.' Will is the only actor in history to have eight consecutive films open at number 1 at the box office including 'Hancock,' 'Hitch' and 'I, Robot.' Jada co-starred opposite her husband in 'Ali' as well as in 'The Matrix Reloaded' and 'The Matrix Revolutions.' She currently stars as Christina Hawthorne in 'Hawthorne,' a medical drama on TNT.
'The Karate Kid' is a sequel to the much-loved original starring Ralph Macchio, Elisabeth Shue and Pat Morita from 'Happy Days' fame. It is scheduled for release on June 11, 2010.

These kids are annoying, when I saw When The Earth Stood Still I kept thinking how I can't stand this kid in this movie. Its unavoidable, we all know this kid wouldn't get this part if it wasn't for their daddy. And now he is in the remake of the Karate Kid?? No matter how many times you may say this movie is a remake of the Karate Kid it won't sell, cuz its not a remake but a film using "The Karate Kid" name to boost sales and using a high profile celebrity kid to get more people to see this movie.

Tina it appears you have some strong dislike for this young man. My guess is you are very hurt soul with nothing better to do in life then to put down a child. God bless you if you have any kids

Give me a break Joe, its showbiz and there are many who will say the same. I am not the one putting my kid in the spotlight, I am honestly saying the child is annoying to me because he didn't earn his way but got it cuz of daddy. I feel sorry for your kids having a such a sensitive girly man for a dad, I bet you pee sitting down too.

Why are they remaking the Karate Kid? This is one of the most stupid idea's ever. And then to top it of their going to put the Smith kid in it, Why?
While we're at it lets remake Gone With The Wind!
This is just Hollywood GREED at its best.

They are probably remaking it because there hasn't been an original idea, of any quality, anywhere in Hollywood for a very long time.

You are too stupid to be writing anything. Will Smith is one, if not the, highest paid actor in Hollywood. You are a jealous racist. Don't blame him because you are not smart enough to go out and make a living.

Hollywood has run out of ideas. Has no one else noticed this? That's why they keep remaking everything.

The article is not correct. It's actually going to be called "The Kung Fu Kid", which makes a lot more sense since that is Chan's specialty. He was taught Kung Fu at opera school. Man, Hollywood is good for nothing but remakes these days. That wouldn't be so bad, but they only remake stuff that was crap to begin with.

This is stupid because he is only 11 yrs old. Part of what made the Karate Kid good was the tension of Daniel liking the girl and such. This will be another misser on remakes. Hollywood is Washed up and Pathetic. They take something that was great and Iconic and mess it up period.

Well, I agree with about everything evryone is saying about this film. I know I won't be seeing it and also thought the kid stink in Day the earth stood still. All that kid has going for him is is daddy and his mommy "Name". He needs to stick to being just a kid.
