Ronnie Wood Arrested for Assaulting Russian Girlfriend

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood spent last night in a jail cell, after he was arrested on suspicion of assaulting his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend.

The 62-year-old was held by British police after an alleged argument with Ekaterina Ivanova. Police are investigating claims that Wood slapped the former waitress to the ground before pulling her hair outside a restaurant.

Wood allegedly stormed off while a member of the public went to help Ivanova. A restaurant worker called the police and they later detained the guitarist at home.

Staff said the couple had popped in briefly, and he drank some whiskey while Ivanova barely touched her glass of water.

According to the UK's Mirror, an eyewitness alleged, "I had just finished work when I saw the incident in the high street. I think they were arguing about her not wanting to go home. He hit her and she was screaming that she didn't want to go with him. Then a man came out and helped her into his house. He had just walked away and left her in the street."

Wood was released midday Thursday on bail, pending further inquiries by police.

In September of this year, police were called to the couple's $10M home after neighbours heard a screaming match.

Last month, Wood was divorced by his long-suffering model wife Jo, who couldn't accept her husband's adultery.

They had been married for 24 years before splitting in July 2008.

Wood met Ivanova while undergoing rehab.

What a man!!! Regardless of his unlimited talent and celebrity status does not mean that his abusing his girlfriend is tolerable. Just another musician beating their girlfriends. You have got to believe that they believe they are imperial and untouchable for their actions. Also, just in case someone makes the excuse he must have been drunk is ridiculous. I must admit I don't understand why a twenty year old young and beautiful woman would want a sixty two year old man. I can't think of any thing else except for his legendary career and celebrity or what? his money?? Unthinkable!!! She apparently likes the money or whatever enough to suffer the abuse of an immature and obnoxious man. I also bet that he suffers no consequences.
