Marilyn Manson Says He's Back With Evan Rachel Wood

Marilyn Manson has reunited with actress Evan Rachel Wood.

The goth rocker told Metal Hammer magazine that after being stricken by what he calls an "identity crisis," he has accepted that he needs to work on what he is best at and believes his new outlook is working well as the 22-year-old actress -- whom he first split from in October 2008 before briefly reuniting in February -- has agreed to give their relationship another try.

The 40-year-old star said: "I think I'm not afraid to be me. Sometimes it happens when you get to this point in your career, and there are so many things that have happened and influences that you've had, besides the influences of the things that have inspired you.

"Sometimes you feel awkward being what you're best at, you feel like you have to be something new. But I think that a lot of people will agree that me being me at my best is what I need to be.

"I think that has really paid off because I'm back with Evan."

The 'Beautiful People' singer -- whose real name is Brian Warner -- believes the relationship will have an impact on his future songwriting.

Asked about the direction his music will take, he told Metal Hammer: "I think it will be more bad-ass , I think it's going to be more romantic, maybe. Self-abusive."

Marilyn and Evan were first romantically linked in 2006 when the singer split from then-wife Dita Von Teese.

I don't like it when people use the word Freak to describe anyone. He is a very talented entertainer. Who are we to judge who falls in love with who. I am a 45 year old woman who fell in love with an older man. We have been together for 25 years, and some say we are an odd match, but it works for us. Give them a chance, after all it really is none of our business. i wish them all the best.

Why is this a bigger deal than Demi and Ashton? It's not. People are just trying to shoot him down because he's the type who doesn't care what people think. He's different; SO WHAT?! Hmmm.... been listening to M.M. since back in the day when he was with the Spooky Kids and I still can't figure him out. Does he look/act like that off-camera? Kinda difficult to call someone a crazy freak if you don't know what these beautiful women are attracted to underneath all the make-up.

I've seen Manson on Bill Maher a coupel times and he's quite intelligent, reasoned and articulate. He's a new generation's Alice Cooper, and he has a smoking hot girlfriend.

Looks to me like he's doing just fine. I'm 54 and I think his work is more interesting and certainly no worse than the insipid pop that passes as artistry these days.

Gosh darn your right. Take away the talent, originality and most importantly, great songs, and Manson could pass for the spitting image of Alice Cooper.

Just to follow up. Manson and Alice performed on stage together recently. Its obvious to anyone with an ear for music that Manson is not a good singer, but just how bad became obvious after hearing him destroy a few classic Cooper songs. Alice was never known as being a great singer, but at 62 years old, he blew away the much younger Manson.

Oh seriously, people. Don't hate on Marilyn Manson if you've never bothered to listen to what he has to say. No, you may not deem him useless, shallow and pedo (ok Lush, really?) just because you've only cracked an ear open for the media to abuse him and jab a finger at him for horrible events that are ridiculously unrelated. If you think you have every right to do so, because of course, Columbine was caused by that kid who had a Manson song in his ipod, then hey, why not blame Bush for igniting school shootings and violence all around the US? After all, he's the one who launched bombs.
