Alexa Ray Joel Released From Hospital

After an alleged pill overdose sent her to the hospital, Alexa Ray Joel -- daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley -- is back home and recovering.

A rep for the singer tells Usmagazine.com that after Joel left St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City.

"She is going to be fine," the 'Scenes from an Italian Restaurant' singer told Newsday of his daughter's condition.

According to reports, Joel was upset over both her parents' recent public divorces as well as her own love life, causing her to take the pills.

Alexa Ray Joel...I will pray for your speedy recovery. When will people realize that if you divorce and have children still in the home...please, please, please put ALL of your energy into RAISING THEM. Why would you continually risk them witnessing MORE unhealthy relationships with others. Her parents both have had multiple partners in and out of marriages. All you are teaching her is that adult love is conditional upon what you have not who you are as a human being. After being in an abusive marriage for almost 25 years...I couldn't risk my DAUGHTERS witnessing more of the same. I still am in a muddle on how I could have chosen a LIFE partner so badly the first time. If you bring an innocent life into this world RAISE THEM first then find someone when they're gone. That way your only hurting yourself if you make another bad choice. I wish parents weren't so selfish and not think about the impact on their children. They need stable adults...not more drama.

All things are temporary and no relationship is worth harming yourself. I have been there and NOW realize it was so not worth it. I hope this young woman moves on and lives a long happy life.!
