The Michael Jackson Painting Everyone's Talking About

If you ever wondered what type of art Michael Jackson was into, you're now getting your first glimpse as to what adorned the King of Pop's walls, and it has people talking. The painting, which can be seen in 'Michael Jackson Opus: The Ultimate Celebration of an Icon,' shows a bare chested Jackson -- nude save for a properly placed sheet around his groin -- surrounded by cherubic angels. The multi-ethnic group of angels -- all male -- are placing flows in Jackson's hair as he gazes off into the distance. Still, one expert defends Jackson despite many crying foul about the painting.

David Nordahl, who painted the angel painting titled 'Michael' and many others for Jackson upon demand, said that the King of Pop "thought it was great with a little 'tongue-in-cheek' flavor," according to The New York Post.

Ian Halperin, who penned the best-selling Jackson biography 'Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson," tells PopEater that "Apparently, there are at least 75 other such artworks that ... have yet to be revealed in public. The family, from what my sources tell me, are not thrilled at all by the release of these portraits."

The Post went on to call the painting "weird" in its headline, leading with the line: "Thank heaven for little boys." Similarly, The Huffington Post declares the painting "creepy."

No matter how the press or fans view the paintings, Halperin says people shouldn't start reaching for analogies with the painting.

"I firmly stand by what I wrote in my bestseller last summer that in no shape or form was Michael a child molester. He was a victim of ruthless attempts to extort him out of the fortune he worked relentlessly over the years to amass," Halperin says about the painting and how some may construe it.

Other paintings that Nordahl did cast Jackson in the light of Peter Pan, King Arthur and a superhero.

Michael was unique if anything, people are so quick to judge, the man was an artist and appreciated the arts. Nordahl himself stated that he cast MJ in the light of Peter Pan, King Arthur and superhero's. This portrait is similair to the sculpture of Michaelangelo's David. There's an understanding in between the lines that most people who judge just don't get. There's nothing weird about this picture, it doesn't indicate anything about boys or molestation or the likes. It wasn't painted to be hung in the White House or to be ridiculed, it was a private personal piece and should remain as such.

I wanted to give Jackson the benefit of the doubt about his sexual preference but now I'm going to have to change my mind about him after the showing of the portrait. I think he was weird. This portrait just shows the guy was a pedophile. No wonder he reportedly paid off the parents of that first boy who sued Jackson. No wonder the Jackson family is upset with the release of this portrait. This puts Jackson in a whole new light for those who either sided with him or held their reservations about him. This portrait has hurt his image more than you can imagine.

Umm, if you look at the Dateline interview of him you see it, and that one was a long time ago. I barely know bout MJ (other than stuff like songs n the rumors n stuff, but im not a fan) and I recognized this.
