Landing almost 10 percent of the write-in votes in the New York City Mayoral race last month, 'Simpsons' tycoon and overall curmudgeon Mr. Montgomery Burns topped the list of additional candidates that New Yorkers could vote for. The back-humped, scheming Burns got 27 out of 299 write-in votes. Unfortunately for Monty, fellow billionaire Michael Bloomberg won the real vote, and is in charge of the Big Apple for a third term. Either way, eeexxxxxcellent story. The New York City Board of Elections released the information (see it here) on Monday revealing the write-in results. Aside from Burns, other cartoons that got penned in were Alfred E. Newman of Mad Magazine fame, Fantastic Four arch-villain Victor Von Doom, Mickey Mouse and Sleeping Beauty.
Other famous (and real) celebrities who got written in were Howard Stern, Derek Jeter and New York's infamous 'Naked Cowboy,' Robert Burke.
In other election oddities, former mayors Ed Koch, Rudy Giuliani and David Dinkins scored the people's vote, as did Bill and Hillary Clinton and other politicians ... including Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt.
Who, you may ask, was the strangest and most controversial name on the write-in list? It's safe to say that Adolf Hitler's one vote secures him that honor.

At least Mr. Burns is not as evil as most of the politicians in New York.
Isnt there some agency that should be looking into the unethical way Bloomberg got a third term.

OMG that's the best thing I've read in a long time! What about Diamond Joe Quimby?

It's something that polititions can change the rules to suit them. Bloomberg to me is NOT the mayor of NYC. There is no mayor of NYC.
